    I made two quick logos:

    Black bg:

    Transparent bg:

The font is "Jellyka - Etrstrya's Handwriting". The author only asks that you donate if you use their font commercially - I can do this for you if you pick mine. (The link to the font website is the reason for editing. I can't do live links.)

I might make a layout, not sure. I also might make a version of the logo with a bigger font...

@Shinan I like the nice, warm, open design. The use of the flame throughout the page is a nice touch: it helps to tie the page together.

In the logo, can you make the fire a little less cartoony and see what it looks like with a shock of red in it. Also, I like the contrast of the blue with the orange -- in fact, something like that is needed to keep there from being too much orange at the top of the page, but something about those blue circles under the fire isn't quite right. I can't place my finger on it, but try something different with the circles.

The words in the logo should be InstaFuel (InstaFire is the product name, but the site name is InstaFuel). Also, please capitalize the I and the F. By the way, I like the difference in letter width for "insta" and "fire" -- that helps distiguish the words. I also really like the reflected or shadow letters.

For the page, switch the columns so that the narrow column is on the right and the wider column is on the left. I really like the "rectangle with a triangle shape" under the Featured Products but

I like the gradient in the blue border/background for the page. There's a gray bar at the top of that gradient. Give me a different color in that bar than that particular gray. Also, try starting the top of the gradient with the blue you currently have at the bottom and then fade to a lighter blue.

Thanks for the excellent work you've put into this so far. I'm looking forward to seeing your updated design.

@WillHaynes Thank you for the update. The border/background on this particular design needs to be even lighter. The site should feel warm and inviting (imagine sipping hot coacoa next to a fire reading a good book). Perhaps try a soft, light blue. You could also try another color, or maybe even just white. Just keep in mind "warm, open, safe, inviting". Right now the overall feel of the page is too heavy or dark.

    Keep up the good work.

@austin-G Thanks for letting me see the logo with two backgrounds. Here's my feedback: Use a wider or bolder font that will be easier to read. Some of my customers will be middle-aged people and I want them to be able to easily read the text. Also, please try a different image than a gas can. One of the uses of the main product the site will sell is to cook or warm food. Most people don't want to pour gas on their food or for their food to taste like gas.

I hope to see your updated logo. Good luck!

UPDATE: Everyone, thank you for your effort and talent. I appreciate your submissions. Please note that I will not be giving any feedback tomorrow (Sunday) as it is the Sabbath, but I'll be back on DP Monday evening. Even though you won't hear from me tomorrow, the contest is still going on. Again, I'll be providing feedback Monday evening. I apologize for the break.

Have a great day tomorrow, and I hope to see even more great work on Monday!

    Hey RichyRich,

The reason I am not participating is because I don't think I can match up with the talent here. I am a coder not a designer, but people like willhaynes, who I am proud to say designed my portfolio site (which is I have yet ot finish coding), are the type of people that can give you the type of design that you want.

    Regards,
    Nick

Hi. Thanks for the contest. Here is my first try - colors can be changed to match the template you choose.

@Shinan Thanks for the revision. For the logo, mix your two versions in this way. Take the original logo and add a gradient to red similar to what you had in the second version. Also, give me a gradient/fade to red on the words -- most likely a diagonal fade so that the most red is on the word fire. Then I'd like either the word fire to have flames coming off it, or perhaps a flame off the two "i's" in InstaFuel.

    revised he logo.
Also, removed the gradients from body content boxes, and instead, added a nice shadow on the bottom of each content box.

    Badmasketa,

The contest technically closes for new submissions tonight in about twenty minutes. Since you expressed interest in submitting, I'd like to allow you to submit, but I don't know what the custom is on these competitions. If it's generally acceptable to allow submissions after the deadline as long as the person before the deadline say's they are going to submit, then I'd love to receive your submission.

I'll be choosing the winners tomorrow night.

@jackieh1791 Thanks for your submission. The flames coming off the letters is a nice touch. I also like having the different words in different colors. Here's are some suggested changes: Capitalize the "I" in Insta and the "F" in Fuel. Also, can I see the words with with a gradient in the coloring? If you are able to, add the partial mirror image of the letters at the bottom of the logo

@bizzard Your comment makes it sound like you were also going to enter a logo????

As to the webpage, I like the really simple, clean feel of the page. The red line with the shadow under the words "New Products" is a nice touch.

Here are some changes: The right column needs to look like its NOT for a blog. Will you add a "Buy Now" and a "Learn More" button in the main "New Products" area? In the left column, remove the row of vacuum cleaners, move the section below it up (the one with the blue gradient) and change the border so that that section is expandable in length. Also, please add a footer bar.

    Excellent work!
