60UVs/day or 160UVs/day Which one is it?!

So I've been using Google analytics for the past few months and we've gone from 1UV a day to ~60UVs a day. I've been reading books on SEO and internet marketing and have learned that Google Analytics isn't necessarily very accurate. To compare and contrast results, I set up an acount at www.statcounter.com

There I get 160UVs a day... Why such a big difference? and which one should I trust?

I would say go by the Analytics over the Statscounter one..

I always have higher numbers in all my blogs on Statcounter.

Not quite sure why, but there is definitely some reason behind it.

Well if there constantly not the same, why not take an average of the two and base your visits on this. At least this way you can see trends, whether your hits are increasing/decreasing etc.

    Or make your own counter?

I think I will just take inbetweens.

Are there any well respected counters out there that I can use? I heard that statcounter is unaccurate because it counts all the spiders and bots unlike Google.

Google handles their data a bit differently. You probably get higher numbers with statcounter because they use an image and not a javascript (frequently turned off in browsers) call to track data. That said, it's also a bit more unreliable because as has been stated; they also track bothits and such, which Google parses out as not true "visitors".
