$60 SOLAR COMPANY LOGO - Feedback on each design and comprehensive brief.

Hi,

I need a logo designed for a solar hot water company called 'Solar Hot Water Queensland'.

>> Here is a link to the website design (but colours are not fixed at the moment - so you are free to use the shades of colour you like best).

Colours: Your Choice of Green (green energy)/Yellow & Orange (Sun)/Blue (water) - Can be one or multiple colours as long as they work well together.

Thoughts: There was mention of a 'happy sun', but something abstract and 'arty' would be good.

Here are a couple of logos in a similar industry that we like the design of: (please don't copy them - they are just there to be a guide to the style we like):

Oh there are some cute entries to this contest so far - but I think there are more to come - just wait until the designers wake up! I'm going to submit something for this after I get some food (not to downplay the cool of this contest) I love solar anything so this is right up my ally

Graphiclines

 

Firstly, I do not want any tag lines or slogans included, everyone has done the right thing and just included the name.

SIZE: I forgot to mention at the start, I require the logo to be a scalable vector, so that it can be increased to any size (for things like car graphics, sign age etc). As for proportion, I'd prefer something more rectangle (not square).

Some fantastic entries so far, let me go through them all and give you some feedback:

#6 @sushant1221 - Thankyou for being the brave first entry! I quite like the sun in your logo, but would try removing the stroke from behind the birds, and play around with the fonts and colours for the text to find something a little more professional.

#8 @pano4e4ka - I love the sun, but think the leaf/droplet shape (while a good idea), doesn't seem to work. Try making the sun a circle, but keep the suns rays as is. I prefer the single orange colour, but feel free to play around with different fonts and colours.

#9 @natali77 - I like your concept (of incorporating the sun and water), but this design looks a little to much going on. A thought I had (not sure if it will work), is drop the rays of the sun, and just keep the circle you have, work with just the font you have for 'queensland', and push the water to below all the text instead of inbetween.

#10 @chlopzmazur - When I first glance at this logo I really like it, then the more I look I can't work out why I don't like it as much. The over concept is really good. But a few ideas, is maybe push the sun over the top of the blue solar. Make that but the focus/icon, and have the hot water queensland on two lines beside it? Also, maybe try just a solid colour for 'queensland'.

#11 @jhaye - Really creative icon! I love the integration of all three colours and ideas. I'm not completely happy with the text layout/colour, as it seems to fade into the white background. Could you play around with fonts and colours (maybe a max of two for the fonts), and one thing I like is when the top line of text is the same width as the bottom, so maybe look at spacing the 'queensland' out?

#12 @graphiclines - You have perfect layout for the text! I love the smaller 'queensland'. This logo is a little to square for my liking, is it possible to move the sun and water to beside the text - with the water starting to flow under the 'solar'? I'm not sure all 3 colours go, so maybe try a dark grey colour for the font?
