    All questions and submissions must be submitted through the thread. I will not take any PM-ed designs or questions. This way I don't have to repeat myself and the general contest can benefit from your talent and insights.

    This is a very simple design. The design needs to be patterned after this wedding photography website. The most important part of this contest is that your design looks elegant and fancy. If you look at the navigation in the wedding photography website you will see beautiful swirls that the client loves. An elegant website background should also help.The more elegant your submission is (both with the fonts and design) the more likely you are to win this contest. Below is the logo and the background of the logo.

    Please feel free to let your creativity show through, I do not want an exact copy of the wedding photography website. To help you understand the taste of the client I have added other websites the client likes below.

    Any stock images you use in your design I will pay for upon winning the contest.

    FAVORITE WEBSITES
    veronicabastian.com
    modellodesigns.com
    behr.com
    fauxfxca.com

    This contest has a time frame of 72 hours but will extend longer until a desired winner is chosen. Best of luck, and thank you in advance for your great talent.

    FEEDBACK

    @sp1ky: Thank you for being the first to submit your design. So, not to "beat around the bush," I don't like the design. However, let me tell you why. First, it doesn't have the logo in the design, which I understand since the link is broken in the original post. However, you can get the logo and logo background in the my response to raja. Also, the design isn't "elegant" or "fancy" enough. The client is provides home decorations for high end homes and needs something very classy. Let me know if you have any questions.

    ok thanks for the feedback
    i have the logo now so may throw somethign new in

    And here is something for your client to think about.
    "The client is provides home decorations for high end homes and needs something very classy"
    That logo is neither classy or high end - so id advise also a logo contest or a new logo in our designs.

    thats just my opinion others may like the logo

    @sp1ky: Thanks for your opinion. The logo background is actually part of some of the clients artwork. The client's logo isn't something I would choose for my own website, but the client knows her industry and she absolutely loves the logo. You are welcome to create a new logo, but I am sure the final design that the client chooses will have the logo in it. Hope that helps.

    Please don´t misread this as something personal, but I told you this in advance.

    You have to face ther fact that the client may be king, but the client certainly isn´t always right. "Logo background"? Oh dear. You have to convince the client that there´s two options: creating a site she likes or creating a site she´ll benefit from.

    It literally doesn´t work this way, not with such a highly detailed background.

    As I have done quite a few contests here on DP I have found that beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder. You also have to realize that as a designer you do not always know the market research for a client's niche--this contest is actual proof of this. The client's logo background is a normal style for the industry and most of her competitors also display this type of background.

    I also don't agree with your attitude towards the client. The client needs to love his or her website because they are the ones who will be looking at it everyday. As I stated to you in the logo contest I do act as a filter for the client to bring them the best designs offered in a contest. After that it is the client who offers feedback in order to create something he or she loves. Just telling the client that I know exactly the site "she'll benefit from" is not how I do business. I try to create options for the client who then decides what they will love and benefit from. I can respect that you may not be a fan of this style of contest and I am okay with you not participating. There are so many talented and wonderful designers on DP that I always am able to find something the client loves and appreciates.

    I hope this helps you understand my DP contest philosophy, and why I do let the client decide what they like and don't like in a logo and web design. ~Paul

    FEEDBACK

    @jharrvis:
    These designs look great!!! My only suggestion is to change the font of "Paint Of Every Room" in the header to be more of a script/cursive font. Other than that these are really good.

    FEEDBACK

    @willhaynes:
    I like the design, and I really like how you added a picture with the client's information--nice touch! However, I am not sure if the client will like having the slogan taken off from her logo. I will send it over to her to find out. Thanks for a great submission.

    @jharrvis: So, I received feedback from the client and she likes your gray design. Also, she recommends that instead of having "Paint Every Room" twice (once in the logo and once in the header), to move the phrase that is currently in the body of the text ("Custom Decorative Painting & Faux Finishes for your Home & Office") and put it in place of the "Paint Every Room" in the header. The font she likes for this phrase is the same font you are using in the body text of the gray design. The phrase needs to be in header like this:

    Custom Decorative Painting
    & Faux Finishing
    for your Home & Office

    Notice that I changed "Finishes" to "Finishing". "Finishing" is what the client requested. Thank you for your hard work and great designs. Let me know if you have any questions.
