    @katesrobyn: Thanks for being the first to submit. Here are my recommendation. First, when I was talking about putting the newsletter into the sidebar I meant this graphic:

    [IMG]

    Second, go ahead and remove the graphic of the family and just have text. Finally, I still don't think the flower fits, but I great job in tying in the rest of the color scheme. That makes huge difference.

    @katesrobyn: Your design is coming along nicely. Here are a few more recommendations, and hopefully I won't have any more. I like this header a lot more than the flower. If you could remove the leaf and also the herbaldoc images and create a solid banner all the way across that resembles what you have (showing herbal products) I think it would look better. Secondly, thank you for moving the newsletter signup to the sidebar. What I think would look great is to create another orange title bar in the side bar with "NEWSLETTER" in it (without the quotation marks of course), and put it under the picture of the person weighing themselves. Still keep "PRODUCT NEWS" but just put it under the signup. Those are the only changes I would recommend. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks.

    Hi , ok here is what I have come up with. Forgive me every one if the file is a bit big for the forums. I actually shrunk this one down but I wanted to try to keep the quality for mightybutton. This one is about 800 pixels wide and around 124k png file. It Should be good enough for here. I have the original design at about 920 pixels wide.
    Ok, here goes! Let me know what you think.

    @badmasketa:
    I am really easy to work with. If your design is good I don't mind if you use stock photos or the product photos off of the website.

    SUBMISSION FEEDBACK

    @a4hire: I really like your design. Particularly, how you rounded the corners and how the color scheme ties in with the logo--nice job. Here are some suggestions: First, I really do not like the header. The striped greens with the clipart makes the design look cheap (and I would ditch the clipart completely...header, body, every where). A suggestion is to try to use the logo as the header, and nothing else. I have provided a link to the psd files for the logos at the bottom of this comment so that you can have more freedom with the logos. The second thing I would change are the subheaders "Product News" and "Newsletter". I like the rounded bar but don't have the clipart or anything on the rounded bars except text. When I have the site coded I will need to have the freedom to have text overlaid on the image so that it is easy to change. The final thing I would change is the right side bar. It is too thin and you can remove the "My Account". Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

    @Hetzenauer: Thank you for submission. Your design has a edgy look and feeling. Not exactly what I am looking for, but thank you for your try.

    @katesrobyn:
    Thanks for your changes. The first part of your header looks great, fading from one image to the next. However, you ruin the design by having just square images crammed together. Concerning the sidebar you have the right idea with the orange sub-bars. However I would have the sidebar look more like this:

    [IMG]

    Finally, the quote: "We offer some of the world's finest HEALTH Products and HERBAL Remedies" needs to be considerably smaller. Just make it a title and expand out the green body underneath. Hope this helps.

    FEEDBACK

    @katesrobyn:
    Thank you for doing all those changes. I sincerely appreciate your persistence. Your design is 99% there. The last thing I would recommend is to even out the photos in the header. The first photo is 340px; the second 140px; and the third 120px. I would make all three photos evenly proportioned of 200px. Other than that I have no more changes.

    HELPFUL TIPS

    I apologize for this contest taking so long, but I really am trying to find the right design. Throughout the thread I have offered several examples of websites that I like. I am going to go through each of these websites and show you exactly why I like them. Hopefully this will help us find the winning design. Please do not hesitate to let me know if you have any questions.

    Wyngate Commons
    I figured I would start out with my favorite site first. If anyone can make their design look the most like this design they would probably win the contest. What I like about this design is how the designer balances the right side navigation with the left side sidebar and the top navigation. Overall the whole design is balanced. A lot of web designers will make one side or the other of their design unbalanced by adding too much or too little. However, the one thing that I do not like is the size of the header. Yet, everything else is so well proportioned that the designer was able to get away with this.

    Tea Tree Tea
    Out of all the examples this is my least favorite. However, I liked how the designer used the header to offset the design and make you focus on their product. I feel that the designer was on dangerous grounds in how he/she designed it because he/she could of easily pushed the user away. Yet, using soft colors and giving an overly friendly look was key in helping the designer pull off this design.

    Albin.net
    The only reason I chose this site was for their unusual page design. It really makes the user focus on the logo and side navigation. It breaks the traditional web design mold, which makes it good. Though, their blue background is absolutely hideous!!

    Lewro's Blog
    Okay, I love this design and was hoping to see HerbalDoc's design be more like this. There are several things that I love about how this was designed. First, the color scheme is absolutely awesome!!! It really makes the design pop, which is interesting, since the designer really focused his/her colors to the navigation and logo. I've wondered if the tree also helps the colors, but I think the tree does more to offer balance to the overall design. I think the tree is nicely done since most designer will try to balance the site with something functional. By the designer adding a transparent sidebar over the tree functionality isn't lost but neither is the design. I don't care for the light gray text navigation at the top, and feel that it could have been removed all together. Also, the search bar could of been added next to the home tab. Yet, I must admit overall that the site is well put together and designed.

    I have made some updates to this based on your suggestions and tried to make it more balanced like some of your example sites in the last post.

    FEEDBACK

    @a4hire: Thank you for all the changes, it looks much better. I only have one suggestion, the logo is not centered in the header. The left side is 82px from the headers edge and the logos edge; whereas, the right side is 69px from the headers edge to the logos edge. Also, when you enlarged the logo you lost quality. Did the PSD file not help? Let me know.

    I will center the logo and try the PSD file. I did load it but did not have the right colors on the PSD file and it seemed to have some loss of quality too when I tried it last night. Do you have a vector copy of the logo ? This one is all green and I was using the copy with the blue in it.
