Ignoring it takes care of nothing, sorry. We really can't just stand by and be ripped like that. I didn't participate in this contest, however, I know the work that goes behind it all. Theft cannot be tolerated! I am actually quite upset about it.

Definately watermarking from now on, that is if I ever participate in another Digital Point contest again... If this is not dealt with by the mods or someone than it shows that they will stand for this kind of BS and really says alot for the integrity of this forum. I hope I dont get banned for saying this, but Im really upset aswell.

BTW, ignoring this will not make it go away just like the previous poster said. This has happened more than just once on DP. Nothing was done about it last time either.

Sniip3r logo did not get stolen as most of you think. For those interested, a new DP member who could not make new posts sent a PM and his logo got selected. Not the whole logo, but the image of the bear, and the rest of the logo will be built around that according to our specification. His bear image was just what we were looking for, because it was original, and cute.

The designer is non_sequitur - a new DP member.

You could have saved yourself alot of bad feeling if you'd said that at the beginning.

    But why couldn't non_squitur post?

This is the PM I got -

Since I'm new, I'm not yet allowed to join contests here (You must have been a member for 14 days, not have an overall red reputation and have 25 total posts to post in the Buy, Sell or Trade forum). But I'm really interested with this type of design and was wondering if the contest is still open.

I created several designs but I'm not sure if you can attach files via pm so I decided to upload the logos I created here:

    http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...k/1bcopy-1.jpg
    http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...nk/1copy-1.jpg

looking forward to hearing from you.

Hey, that "original" bear picture was not so "original" as you may remember.... and you also said thats what you wanted... Im not buying your story buddy... How come Sniipers logo is on your site then?? Care to answer that..?? Why wouldnt you have provided us with more of an explanation than just CONTEST CLOSED.. Thats disrespectful, and ignorant.. You've severely tarnished your rep here.

    Angela,
    1. The image picked for the site is ORIGINAL.
    2. The site is not up. The logo put on there was made using a purchased image from clipart.com, but not being used since we wanted an ORIGINAL image (provided and shown in the post above)
    3. I can provide you with more of an explanation about logo(s) provided by you and other designers, but to sum it up, those just didnt do it for me, and not what I was loooking for. I could give more of a detailed reason for each one, but I dont need to if you read my posts, and what I am looking for in the logo, along with samples and images for ideas.
    4. Contest closed means contest closed. Or should it have been elaborate for people who dont understand it in 2 words???

I am not abandoning the forum, ofcourse I would have been back on this thread to let the posters and participants know of the winner along with the winning logo. Its all in due time, I hope you understand.

Angela, thanks for being the MOD here. Lately you have been doing "LMAO" alot. Good for you. The contest was legit. The designer got paid what was advertised, and he is getting more for making other changes. NEXT TIME, you dont have to participate, and you can KARMA this baby!

With all due respect to ALL parties, then, there needs to be a clause somewhere that indicates all entries MUST be posted on the forum board for ALL to see and NO PRIVATE entries allowed. Just so that there is a level playing field for all involved. Otherwise, let's just all send entries via pm. It should be one way or the other.

Angela, I am still here. And picking a winner should be to my discretion, since I am the one paying, so you should just stop being a sore loser. The main point is that a DP member was picked, since this was the only place I chose to hold the contest. It was just unfortunate that the user is new to the site.

Maybe we should alert mods to have a sticky here in Contest Forum about the rules here in this forum. It's really frustrating if you don't win a contest.

BTW its my friend non_sequitir won and she will treat us later(hopefully) :D

Did thebearbuilder.com logo get changed? The one that's up now looks nothing like Sniper's contest entry (Snipers was WAY better, by the way).

As Shoemoney and others have pointed out, you all need to *heavily* watermark your images. This is a public forum and ANYONE can swing by and swipe images, not just the contest holder.

Sorry but we can't make you wear your seatbelt when you get in your car either... sometimes you have to be responsible for yourself.

I understand you are upset but again... watermark your images until a sale is made. If you want to take some legal recourse against this person that is your call... but you choose to upload the completed images without ever getting a payment. I think you should be more mad at yourself.

One last thing. This was never a "DigitalPoint Contest" like you said. It was held by the thread starter.
