Hi Fellas, Still trying to get my head around using google's keyword tool, I just typed in 4 words and hit the "exact match" button. Its saying 18,000 local searches and 40,000 global searches. Does this simply mean that if i get that domain name with the exact 4 words in it then 58,000 people are likely to see/end up on my site once its developed? Thanks in advance. Simmo
Nope. It means that a total of 40,000 people research that keyword every month worldwide, 18,000 of which in your designated area. Now, to get a good share of that organic traffic, you need to find a way to make your page show up in among the first search results for that keyword. The vast majority of researchers doesn't go beyond the top 10 results, and most just stick to the top 3 - that's where you want to be. How do you achieve that? Welcome to the wonderful world of Search Engine Optimization - in which getting a domain with your chosen keywords is somewhat relevant, but marginally so! You want to get into the real action.... Put out quality content related to that keyword, get links, build a reputation, cross your fingers, keep working hard(er), learn tricks from your competitors, evolve, and .... repeat from the beginning!
