I was wondering how come none of my pages from NowG.net got indexed yet? If the I google the URL itself, the blog shows up, so I should think it was not banned. However, I wanted to check if some of my articles were not stolen / copied, so I took an old post (for instance - this, posted in February 2007) and googled the first paragraph. there are no results for my blog at all (nor thankfully for anyone else). Some story with some other posts I checked, where could be the problem? I do have good meta tags including <meta name="robots" content="index, follow" /> HTML: any ideas?
you site has 316 pages indexed http://www.google.com/search?q=site...s=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
Not tacky. Telling. @Lorelei: Some of your pages are indexed, some aren't. The paragraph you searched for is on a page that is not indexed, so obviously it won't be returned when you search for it. How many clicks does it take to get to that page? Click depth seems to matter when it comes to indexing 'deep' pages. The deeper (clickwise) the page is, the less likely it is it will get indexed.
Do you use google webmaster tools? If not, I recommend it. It will give you accurate info on what is indexed & all sorts of other useful info. Also, if you update your site frequently, make sure you submit your updated sitemaps. Google webmaster tools <--- hope that's the correct url :s
Lorelei, that page (and most of your site) is in the supplemental index: http://www.google.com/search?q=site:NowG.net&num=100&hl=en&safe=off&start=100&sa=N Pages in the supps won't show up for exact searches like that, unless non-supp pages also have the exact phrase you are looking for. It has to do with the way the queries are run. Other queries work just fine: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...ing+themselves+this+question:+what+is+better" -Michael
Your site is definitely indexed, as pointed out above, but if you want it to be indexed just a bit better, I'd highly suggest the Google Sitemap Generator for wordpress. It automatically pings Google with an updated sitemap whenever you make a post and you can also give Google the link to the sitemap of you use Google Webmaster Tools. Here's the link: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/google-sitemap-generator/
thanks for your replies guys, i see it indexed from the urls u gave, i just thought that old enough posts would get indexed either, as this is normally how u check for copyright thief of articles - paste one line and see who else used it. I will look into this sitemap generator, thanks for pointing out at it! anyway, thanks for setting my mind at ease reps given to everyone indyguidedotinfo, I'd not say it's a comedy since this site was PR3 for many months now
more links to the individual pages (via blog posts, forum sigs etc.) will help your deeper pages get indexed.
