6 month rule?

I've been reading on various forums about adsense and micro niche websites since last summer, have yet to put any of it into action though.

I just read a post which said a long the lines of "in order to obtain a google adsense account you need a 6 month old url"

this is completely new to me..................

how are people making micro niche websites by the dozen if you need a 6 month old website to place adsense.

I was planning on starting up in the coming weeks. If this be the case, then I should have applied for an adsense account months ago?

    someone help me out here.

I dont know if thats true or not, but it it was people will either:

    1) Buy the domain in advance, work on it throughout that period then add adsense, or
    2) Buy domains that have been active for longer than 6 months.

The rule only applies in certain scenarios, as I know plenty of people who start with a new domain and get adsense on it no problem, others dont, usually the ones that dont is beasically google's way of telling you that your site is worthless, no content, and isnt right for there programme.

It's easy. You sign up for an adsense account, and place ads on a website. When you've placed ads on that website, just keep adding the codes from your adsense account to all your other websites. Works just fine.

One Google AdSense account is currently displaying ads on 11 websites for me. One account - many websites.

The 6 month rule only applies to your application.

You need a domain/website/blog that is at least 6 months old before you apply. Once Google approves your account, you can use Adsense on as many of your other sites (and even revenue sharing sites that you do not own) without any further approval from them. So once you Adsense account is approved, you can add the code to even a 1 day old site after that.

Just make sure you do not do anything against the TOS and you won't have a problem.

Yeah you only need one 'mature' site. Then just plaster code over all your other new sites!

The 6 month rule is for countries outside North America and Europe. And yes, it's only when you first apply for Adsense. Once approved you can add as many websites/blogs as you like.

6 month rule is not a global rule, it only applies to certain countries.

once you have an adsense account, you can add the code to any site you own, including brand new sites.

Seconded with sultanofseo. Some countries do abused the way to apply for Adsense. That's why they have to created some blockade for less spam acocunts.

You can try apply using some revenue sharing website, it will help you quick approval and no need to 6 months old.

i got my account pretty fast, but anyway, if you are thinking of using adsense as a source of income, you should really focus on building the site 1st.

Apply for adsense with it, when the site is getting decent traffic.

New sites doesn't generate much adsense income anyway.
