The server completed the FSCK check and hostlatch website and that VPS node (vps2) is back online.

They emailed me, or sent me an instant message on AIM, and I told them.

    Hello,

seriestv, I was going to tell him about that.

Adam, please shut HyperVM down ASAP as it seems that they are having big security issues (service hypervm stop). Two of my VPS were compromised.

That won't damage or remove functionality - though you'll have to manually perform reboots.

I also advice you to email all your clients to have LxAdmin stopped as well (service lxadmin stop) so that an attacker can't access their data.

    Regards.

yeap, this is very important since all of our data is exposed even when we are not using hypervm but the server has it

Huh? vps3 was moved to a new hivelocity node, vps1. all vps3 users were emailed with new login information to vps1. we have sold the dedicated server (vps3) over to another person, since it is already migrated to vps1. we updated all of our hypervm nodes since we got an email from lxlabs to update it (/script/upcp), which fixes the exploit to the hack. we will stop the hypervm service though, thanks hostingprovider.

    Yup,
Check WHT. Or check this link, http://www.milw0rm.com/exploits/8880

You could also look on the LXlabs forums, where LXlabs recommended you do not user HyperVM or Kloxo in a production environment currently.

    Good luck in any case.

Alright thanks guys, I have stopped the HyperVM service on all servers. I still do see a lot of big, major companies still having their hypervm service up though!

How long do you guys think we will have to keep the hypervm service down? Did you stop yours as well Jacob?

If they are telling (lxlabs) to not use their software, so things are not very promissing. Isn't there any other software like that?

Yes, there is a control panel for OpenVZ VPS's that is developed by bobcares.com, I just forgot the name of it.

    yes,
we have shut down ours. Many companies have shut down theirs, and A2B2/cheapvps/FSCKVPS has been hacked because of this.

    Thanks HostLatch,
I at the moment have no ETA. I am going to wait a few hours after when they say they have a fix, because there will probably be a flaw in that update...
