Thanx these headlines are great.... I personally like number 2 bcuz I think people like to see stats and results
Nice list. I think with these change with times and trend. Also what may work best depends on the target audience. Anyway personally I like the 6th best.
With how we eat this figure is probably true. A cardiologist I know is fond of saying "heart disease begins the day we are born". Good suggestions. I'm going to use this format for a craigslist headline later this week.
Re: #2, the numbers thing isn't about the numbers themselves, it's about the fact that you're making specific, measurable, concrete claims. It has been proven that people respond better to these than to vague generalizations. Consider: "Furniture Sale On Now, Big Savings!" versus "Buy Any Sofa in the Store and Take Home 37% Savings!" What's also interesting is that odd, non-rounded numbers do better than even or rounded ones. To steal an example from Michael Fortin: “Amazing new system helped me earn $3,956.75 in 29 days!†will consistently outperform “$4,000 in 1 month!†Interesting stuff to ponder, anyway. Thanks for the thread!
Really nice headlines, especially number 6 , i love it. if you are looking a job as a copywriter i ill hire you
You are right. Its not about the numbers but about making the specific and measurable claims. The example you gave, that 29 days thousand dollars is all around us, and that's maybe because it really works.
Great assessment of headlines that work. Number 2 seems to work especially well. I'm not sure why we are so drawn to headlines that include numbers, but it really seems to pull people in.
I like number magic. It always work no matter for what type of blogs. At least I am attracted to titles with numbers. 10 tips, 50 tools, 100 blogs to read..
So simple, yet, so true. headline's a dull.. bussines is null.. headline's a blast, bussines goes flash!
Next discussion: why the consensus that capping up every word in a headline is at all helpful for the reader?
