http://www.khaleejtimes.com/Display...ebruary/theuae_February155.xml§ion=theuae What are we to make of this? They suggest: But this is the 5th one in, what, 2 weeks? No anchored ship is being dragged around THAT much. The country of Iran had no Internet access for a while, too, if I recall. Interesting. Is somebody cutting these on purpose?
Are they nuts? Is it on purpose or is it really an accident. 5 cables cut in two weeks! Poor Iran, does that mean my favorite Iranian President's very own site will be affected?
Good good idea, I would love that! Current Australia's bandwidth prices are crazy! I definitely won't mind a few more cables to Australia
The last time cables were cut in this manner, was WWII. The Russians are massing their fleet in the North Atlantic. The world is getting very scary again. And Bin Laden ran out of media for his camcorder.
The Russians had quite a number of great years due to the rising oil prices, no surprise that they are rebuilding their military capabilities. They were a super power and this time round their military might is built on a solid economic foundation.
That is the problem, their leadership still thinks that they are the Soviet Union They can still create quite a bit of an issue especially with trying to form a bloc with the likes of Iran and the previous Soviet satellites.
the internet didn't exist back then.... ( I know, you are referring to other cables, but I couldn't help it)
