He said he's getting 9000 to 12 000 uniques (visitors) a day. I find it hard to believe, the numbers sound too unrealistic. An average of $3,200 a day with 9-12,000 uniques. Well, this means if 25% of your visitors click on an ad you need an EPC of more than $1.21. Doesn't really sound realistic eh?
at first, to be honest, i thought the whole point of his post was along the lines of the more you make the harder it is to make more. many of us have seen this, at least i have; when clicks go up beyond "thresholds", rpc goes down (drastically). sometimes to the point of obsurdity. but, im pretty sure he stated his reason for the post, to find other publishers who are at this level (as opposed to those struggling to make 100 or even 1000 dollars per month). whether or not he is actually making these numbers is totally irrelevant and i seriously doubt that an anonymous person is "bragging" to a bunch of other anonymous people about how much he may or may not make. now if he comes out next week and tries to sell us a piece of "does it all for you - you can make 5k per day" software, then i take back my opinion and would say he is pre-hyping. but i doubt that was his point. however, not knowing his niche / niches, it does seem hard to believe that he makes that much on a mere 10k uniques per day. he either has to have an amazing ctr, an amazing rpc, or more likely both have to be amazingly high (assuming all comes from 1 site / niche). in my estimates; a 10% actual ctr (not ypn version of ctr) would mean 1000 clicks per day (from 10000 visitors). 3200 divided by 1000 = 3.20 per click average. while getting 1000 clicks is not that difficult, getting an actual ctr of 10% or more is a bit tougher and to get 1000 clicks in a particular niche to pay 3.20 each without diluting the advertiser pool is probuably very difficult. of course, if you break that down to 10 clicks over 100 niches/sites or even 100 clicks over 10 niches/sites, that doesnt seem unrealistic at all or even that hard to do. assuming you have the niches and the traffic to back it up. as always, jmo
I've personally not noticed with YPN... with adsense, definitely. YPN's a godsend for high-traffic sites.
just one of my sites I get 4,000 uniques a day and that site makes anywere from $30-$105 a day. It has its good and bad days. Most of the time is about $60 though a day for those 4,000 uniques.
I just switched a site using adsense into yahoo, and I am making half of what I am making at google. I think it'snot worth for me. What niches worked for you people ?
I will back eproducts 100% with his claims, because I've accomplished similar numbers. I know the niche he was in, and will validate that he is telling the truth, because I made the same kind of money. So if it makes any difference for those who "doubt" his claims, rest assured he is not blowing smoke. The combination of high CTR, high RPC and good ad blocking resulted in a very lucrative time for us. That is all I will say.
I get about 7000 uniques, with nearly 30,000 pageviews a day, yet I'm making around $2500/month. I would say 80% of my visitors are returning. How can I maximize my site to bring in the $1k/day range? From reading this thread it sounds like there is a lot more that I can do. Am I missing something here? Ethan
You will not be able to average more then $1k a day off a site with 7000 uniques. You need 15-20,000 uniques to break the $700 a day point if RPC is close to $1.00 or more. With that being said it is almost never consistantly over $1.00.
I just realized that 80% of my clicks were still thru Google Ads. I'm getting a $1.57439 RCP average right now via my Yahoo Ads. Last month - 836 clicks on Yahoo = $1316.19 7,858 clicks on Google = $1103.09 Total this month (Nov) so far = $2419.28 As you can see, theoretically, if I switch everything to Yahoo I should have $13,687.75 this month instead so far. So I am immediately switching everything over to ALL Yahoo. Although I do expect my Yahoo to clicks to be lower than my Google (250/day is a good estimate) because the Ads arent as tailored to my users, I still expect to get a huge return that blows away anything I had before before. Just jumping to $393.60/day would be fantastic off of 250 clicks a day. Of course, all of this is dependent on my RCP staying stable. God, why didn't I realize this sooner? Hopefully Yahoo is my best friend. We'll find out over the course of the next few weeks. Ethan
Did you see samsam's post just above where he switched over to yahoo and it didn't help? My problem isn't getting a money with visitors, its getting the visitors. How did you guys get 7000 visits/day?
Sorry but anyone making 1.8 million per year off of a site would not be dumb enough to ask everyon on the forum if they had hit that "magic $5,000" a day profit mark, as if it were even a dream of most of us. People making that much per year don't have time for stuff like that, and already know that 99.99999% of us aren't earning that much. So stop asking for his site info.
50 cents per visitor is very, very possible. not with YPN alone of course, but with selling your own products, affiliate programs, etc-- definitely.
I guess I had a brain fart that night. Okay, so whatever his numbers, they're beyond impressive. Whatever he's doing, he's doing it better than most of us, as no one else seems remotely close to the 5k/day marker with YPN.
