$55 for Cathcy Coffee Shop LOGO - 6 days

My dad need a logo for his new coffee shop. This coffee shop sell local home brewed coffee and foods located in Malaysia. I don't think that matters in the deisgn.

The coffee shop name is "Hometown Hainan Coffee"

He really wishes the design to be modern. He kind of like starbucks coffee logo but wishes to be different.

Requirements:-
1) No using of ready made vector logo. ie: from istockphoto
2) Must be hand drawn and unique design
3) "Hometown" should be alone and "Hainan Coffee" should be stick together maybe smaller font

Duration: 6 days. Might extend if nobody provide our liking design.

Prize: $55 paypal

We will provide feedback every now and then.

 

I am not familiar with Hainan but I will give it a try.

 

Don't worry about the word "Hainan" , just the coffee name here. Focus on Home-town and coffee.

Renderwork- Good idea, it look similar to the poster in our shop. Did you do a research on it? Is the person in the logo unique drawn by you or it is some drawing from somewhere. I just want to make sure since we are registering trademark here and if it is not unique we can't use and could get in trouble.

TightWad- Like the colors but the cup is abit odd and overall logo is simple.

So yes, even if you're a small little coffee shop, ANY resemblance to the Starbucks logo will reward you with a potential lawsuit.

Can the business afford the legal help to go up against Starbucks?

I would suggest to move the contest in a COMPLETELY different direction, if you don't wish to incur the wrath of The Man.

Thanks for the advice. I did not say I want it to be like starbuck, I say I need something different. So far the two design renderwork is nothing like starbucks.

I don't think this is anything to worry about. The logos in those articles really dont look anything like Starbucks other than using circles and stars, but I would never look at those and think Starbucks. Also it never mentioned them winning any lawsuits.

thomas66, acm arun, pat3k - It is a good design but not what we look for.
a4hire - Like the two cup ideas on the side. But in the middle, not what we look for. it look like some other country flags.

So far, renderwork #2 logo is in the lead voted by my dad.

My brother suggest maybe coconut trees with a wooden house or something in side the top view of a cup with its plate. <-- just a suggestion to try out
