Consolidating Accounts/Sites

Okay... finally sat down and finished the account binding/consolidation code (and let me just tell you that it was harder than the whole rest of the ad network... :)).

Anyway, you can bind any account to a separate "master" account under the Edit Account Settings. Once you bind an account, you will have an option to jump right to the master account (without needing to re-login). Under the master account, you can toggle the referral window between "Referrals" and "My Sites". From the master account, you can Unbind the "slave" accounts as well as consolidate/unconsolidate weight.

Consolidating weight will remove the weight from that account and consolidate it into the master account.

Let me know if anyone finds any problems or has any questions.

    Hi Shawn

Its great to see the coop network evolving at breakneck speed.

Am I right in thinking this update is *simply* intended to make admin easier for people who have multiple sites in the network rather than adding new features or have I missed something?

Thanks for all your hard work.

Yeah... primarily to make administration of your sites easier... And with the ability to move all your weight into a single account if you want, you can have all your ads in one place.

Cool Stuff - Increase in SERPS

I have very recently joined the network and am pleased to report great increases in serps. Thanks heaps.

I had relied a lot on interlinking of my sites to get link value/PR transfer. This was problematic with Google seeing some as "one site". Now I can rely less on interlinking, more on the network. Sweet!!!

    Suggestion

With the consolidation it gets rather confusing as to what account you are logged on to at one time.

Can we please have the site url placed say just below your main "Coop advertising network" banner. Some of my accounts have ads for their mother account, so looking at the ads doesn't necessarily say what account they are on.

    Thanks again Shawn

    Thanks for the upgrade!

Small problem, when I consolidate two accounts, and transfer the weight, the amount of weight that transfers to the master is less than the amount in each individually. Tried it with a few accounts and they all did this. Just did some quick math, it looks like 90% passes to the master account. Why not 100%? Where does the rest go?

My guess is someone (it could even be one of your own accounts) referred you to the ad network, so they have the 10% bonus.

Ok, I was wondering how the referrals would work. I think you got me, but I'm more than happy to give you 10%!

So we're better off not consolidating if we referred our own sites as we lose the bonus?

Actually, you would not lose any "bonus" from referring your own sites since the bonus is given to the referrer in this case your master account.

No, it just means you already have the bonus, so you don't get a double bonus.

Referring yourself is pointless because the weight is taken FROM the account you are signing up.

If they are brand new accounts, you have to wait up to an hour.

So just to clarify, accounts of others refered by us have less weight then they would have if they weren't refered by anyone? Why is that? Kind of a penalty for being refered, no?
