    Hello friends,
Did any one heard about the Windows Viena? I heard that Microsoft is going to introduce their new version of the windows after the Vista and they called it as the Viena. But I don't know the complete details related with it.And also heard that Microsoft is planning to launch the Windows Viena in 2009.And at that time Windows XP will be retair from the field.
Did any one have any ideas about this?
If know, please share it here.

An even more bloated, resource hungry version of Vista?

How much memory Vienna will need to function properly? 4GB?

Haven't adopted Vista yet, thinking about moving all company's computers to Vista next year after it goes through a couple of patches.

For most people there is no reason to go to Vista. The benefits are just not present over XP. It is a resource hog and it only looks pretty.

If anyone is interested they can read a more in depth analysis of the status of Vista on my site.

As for the next version of Windows; I expect it to be an improvement over Vista. My hope is that Vienna will be what Vista should have been; complete.

Longhorn was the original code name for Vista. Now they have rebranded that same codename for the next server. In the last few months they announced the actual name of the server, Windows Server 2008.

Microsoft 7 (aka Vienna) will be released in around 2010.

They've already tried to stop shipping XP on computers, but manufacturers such as dell have forced them to install it.

It will take quite a while for Microsoft to decide to put out a new OS. Imho, they were kinda early with Vista too, because XP is such a strong OS.

I've known about Vienna for ages and hopefully it's really good because I'll probably keep XP and just wait for Vienna :)
