-5000 Keywords, narrowing it down to just 3-4 ? ??

I have a list of keywords for my nich/site of 5000 keywords - which i got using wordtracker.

I wish to submit my site to 100+ directories and also want to get 200+ one way links.
    (I probly will outsource this)

    I wil have to provide
    -anchor texts(3-4keywords)
    -urls
    -etc..

Where im stuck is in choosing the 3-4 keywords which i will use for my
anchor texts. I wil have to pick 3-4 targeted keywords from my list of 5000 keywords.

This is hard, as from that 5000 list i have 20-30 targeted keywords... and i am just
meant to select 3-4. and i keep getting confused.

    What would you advise?

A keyword list for contextual advertising is much different than the keywords you target on your site. Pick the keywords you are actually targeting on your sites pages. If you are talking about a submission service to a bunch of free directories, google has pretty much completely discounted links from these general directories so don't expect to see much, if any, benefit with google.

I agree with the mjewels. Here is my quesiton to you eyes2005? Directory listing is still important because it is one-way links. Google may not focus on it as much, but it's still a good way to get traffic and get ranked. Do not give up on directory submissions, that is most webmasters problems. I have an awesome directory submission service I use if you are interested.

If your submitting to hundreds of directories you should try using quite a variation in keywords for your anchor text, you dont want too many with the same title.

I'm not sure how you plan to do it. But if I were you I will join those keywords to make a more meaningful key phrases and use it as my title. From 5000 it will become lesser key phrases. All this key phrases will be the title for few pages on this site. After optimizing each pages I will build my backlinks (for each pages) at high PR pages which allow dofollow link. The easiest way is by commenting blogs and posting forums. I will then submit those pages where my backlinks resides to ping service such as ping-o-matic, to speed up the process of indexing by search engine bot. Though the process is a bit lengthy but what important is to get backlinks with high PR pages and not quantity of backlinks. That will comes later once all the pages have been linked. The reason is because you need to increase the PR of your pages since this will help you gets bigger EPC (earning per click) from your AdSense.

To help you find the high PR pages with dofollow enable use livepr.info. Identify the site/forum then search for internal pages with high PR using this tool.

    Hope that helps.

Well it really depends how old is your site, and think wise if you have chances to go on the top without spending too much money. Many SEO experts frequently stop working on certain site cause the money cost to be high in such a competitive keyword are becoming too high. Therefor, you need to pick some keywords/keyphrases that are not so.. competitive. I doubt I can think of 5000 words for a single topic, therefor you should sort which are the only useful of those 5000 and target them only. Maybe not much than 8 keywords if you want good results for them. You can also include ContentDNA in your site, for the same topic for which you searched keywords. ContentDNA is an equivalent to the all extracted information of all the sites that exist out there (on a given topic) which is going to match the Common Neurolinguistic Map (thats what assosiations people have in some environment when you tell them the word wine for example). The trick consist is finding the ideal ContentDNA which match the perfect one which the Search Engines have and include 20-30% of it in your site.

I've tested & done it so I made that statement. Unless you can prove me wrong, I rather stick to it.

500 keywords? You are better off with no more than 10 in your tags (at most). We only use about 8 keywords and it lands us on page one everytime. Not saying that keywords is all that you need to do though. There are many other factors.
