500+ usd for a blog with only 1700 uniques a month

    Hi all,

I need some advice from some of you experts.

I am thinking of buying a "money making" niche blog. The seller sent a screenshot of their adsense report and only showing the date and estimated revenue for the previous month. It is showing a total of 520 something usd with some days making less than 2 usd and the next day someting like 40 usd. It doesnt look consistent, the ups and downs are quite far apart and im afraid the seller might have photoshopped it.

The site has around 1700 uniques a month.

So now can anyone help confirm if this is possible and legit?

I own a website and i never see such big changes in revenue from one day to the other.

    Thanks

The earning is not stable at all, means that you are taking a risk that you will gain nothing. Stable website wouldnt facing this kind of problem such as $2 a day and then $40 a day.

Wouldn't trust it, but would ask an explanation just out of curiosity.

How much he asks for the blog? and btw asking for a more detailed report and traffic stats (where, who, how) wouldn't do any bad, right?

$40 per day for 1700 unique visitor a month is too much high, it might be some one must be clicking fraud click to get your adsense account banned.

adsense stats screenshot can be fakes so i wouldn;t just trust the screenshot unless the seller is trusted and have some reputation.

you also need to do the math and use logic. a site that earns $520 per month would worth 10x the monthly revenue which is the average going price of a site. so if the revenue is legit, the site would worth over 5k. if you feel comfortable buying a site for that much, then its upto you. if the seller wants 1k or 2k for the site, then you know for sure that the revenue is not guaranteed or legit. no one will sell a site that makes $520/month for any less than 5k given that the income is real.

sometimes some sellers do some promotion and buy traffic to boost income. when the selling is done, there stops the traffic and no more income. you need to find out where the traffic comes from and whether the traffic will be sustainable as well

You need to ask for more than one month the revenue and daily traffic stats. Also do a backlink check, page authority, also use the wayback machine to check out the history of the site. etc.

Most of the time, those kind of sites are scam. Also, from $2 to $40, yes, that's suspicious. 1700 UV per month and get $500+, that doesn't make sense. The traffic is too low to make the site owner $500+ in my opinion.

It is risky to go for this, earning ration (ctr) does not match and according to acceptable standards. You may have problems later. These kinds of guys generate high earning just to sell sites to new comers.

With 1700 unique hits per month, then the average revenue that the site can generate will be around $70 to $110, if the keyword(s) are having low competition with high search volume - Here "High" means the search volume should be around 2000 to 3000 exact per month. To Make $40 per day the average unique hits per day should be above 500, and the keyword should have high cpc. In this case the keywords are related to "make money" or "money making", and the CPC will be low when the search volume is high. I am getting around $12 per day in one of my health niche website, where the unique per day is around 300. the on-site SEO is fully taken care and it the off-site SEO is also taken care with constant backlinks.

So why don't you ask for the site URL and find the fact yourself before spending the bucks :)

Well, ask him to add your google Analytic to the site, and then monitor the site for 1 week.
IF you are really interested in purchasing it
