$500 to spend on SEO, what would you do?!

I have around $500 to spend on SEO at the moment.

I am currently on the first page for most of my keyword on google but would obviously like to get these a bit higher.

If you were in my position, what would you spend the $500 on.

Ideally I would prefer to spend the money on permanent links, however I was thinking maybe yahoo directory.

Let me know what you think.

I'd suggest using it on links definitely. Yahoo! directory is good, but really only for Yahoo! rankings. Maybe have someone build out more content for your website, targeting 2nd and 3rd tier keywords.

High-quality blog posts give you the best bang for the buck, as you can get whatever anchor text you choose and vary it from article to article. There are several networks on DP, but I found quality issues with most of the large ones...although they are a great bargain. The links will be archived, so you actually get the burst on the homepage and a second set of links when your posts are archived.
I can recommend a high-quality wordpress network that is very flexible and inexpensive, if you are interested.

i would spend half of the money on new domains and hosting to go with them

on each of them i would install wordpress and a nice theme.

then i would start adding posts onto each of them.

in the posts i would link to the main site and the other blogs.

then make some articles linking to the blogs which link to the main site.

    etc etc.

then join the ad network and put it on every blog.

the other half i would spend on article websites which you ad the ad network code to. then you end up with lots of free lionks which just increase all the time because the more people who see your site the more of your ads show and its like a snowball effect.

    = lots of links

oh and save $5 for an SEO report from one of the other threads

-Have you analyized the links the top sites are getting for your keywords and then asking their link partners to link to you?

-Hire someone to post relavent links in related forums/sites/blogs + submitting good content/replies (not spam).

-Get back links from authority sites and .edu sites.

-Use some SEO analysis software to analyize your site. Then optimize EACH *webpage* for the keywords on that page.

    Hello,
Yes as many here said, buy link in REPUTABLE directories, maybe $299 is too much in Yahoo, but this is only $25 per month :) No too much, if you are going to create a good site... Depend your niche, but there are many very nice blogs....

    Best,

I'm sure I read Matt Cutts saying .gov and .edu links don't carry more weight than any other domain name. My advice would be spend the money on a Yahoo directory listing and Adwords.

I don't think you will get many decent SEO professionals working for $500, well maybe for a day! ;)

If you're really willing to spend $500 on SEO, then you might like to hire a SEO guru.
