Right, muslims that are arrested for plots to kill the infidel makes them victims of perceptions.

Inaction is the best course of action.

What GT is claiming is very much a logical fallacy. He is just unwilling to admit it.

    You cannot say:

Blond crime rates are lower than redheaded crime rates in my city because we have a very good police force that deters crime.

It can be a knee jerk argument from someone that can only see one side of the story. Yes I am sure that counter terrorism efforts have stopped many Islamic terrorism attacks. But to apply that logic to your argument of why there is such a discrepancy in the percentage you must also equally apply that proportionately to both sides. This of course is where the argument breaks down.

Who is the writer of this story and where are the facts to back it up?

I would have to say that this report can NOT be correct. They only way they can say this is by denying that many of the muslims involved where not muslims somehow.

    Can we get more information?

It's really just common sense. That's probably why it's so confusing to you. Feel free to apply what you believe I am not to the other side you refer to.

My point is clear enough that even you could understand it, if you wanted to. In that there is a difference between "accomplished" and "prevented." Clearly the OP did not want to show results of the 700+ arrests that were made which backs up my point that just because only one was accomplished (and in reality, it was not even accomplished) does not mean there were not efforts to commit islamic terrorism. The arrests I pointed out clearly confirm this.

It's as common as AGS and habitual lying or AGS absolving terrorists credit or AGS selling his country out.

We all have our calling, don't we? ;)

Lordy, how many more times do I have to tell you GTech, I love my country and am a patriotic person. It is the corrupt idiots in charge of my country that annoy me. Plus the corrupt idiots running your country are also annoying because poodle Blair agrees with everything that your corrupt administration says.

Please remember GTech that I am not against British or American people per se, it's the idiots running our country's that I am against. And it disturbs me the level and lengths you go to to defend these psychopaths.

Your comments do not represent your reprehensible behavior and comments towards your fellow countrymen during the Iran ordeal where you stooped so low as to suggest it was an "illuminati" plot and that your only concern was for Iran, nor does it correlate to the harsh words you had about those soldiers. It was not only I that pointed these things out. You are a patriotic person, for Iran and terrorists, I agree with that.

It disturbs me that you go to great lengths to defend terrorists and absolve them of their crimes by giving their credit to others. It disturbs me that you make ficticious stories up to defend such. I take it in stride.

This is a classic example of a liberal padding the results...if you actually read the article...you will notice the ratio is not 499:1....there were only 498 attacks...even though it is a small number that you padded...it still goes to show that you will change the facts to fit your agenda. Now what I would like to know is how many terrorists attacks were stopped before they started, and how many of those were by muslims? Also, if you read the article, you will notice that they writer says this:

This goes to show that what they are considering terrorist attacks are not even those that kill people....and considering that every muslim attack results in mass death (9/11, Madrid, London, etc.) I would label them as to a higher priority in trying to stop before they are even started.

dont mislead with wrong info. here is what report says about arrests
Now read the bold section. it says half of the arrests. That means half of the arrests were not involved Islamists. So prevention works equaly for Islamists and Non Islamists attacks.

Lorien, it means that there was a rare case of even material damage done by ISlamists in the last year in EU. On the other hand Non Islamists carried/planed 499 attacks.

You are quite correct on that one, I stand corrected. Do you believe a problem exists, or doesn't? That's pretty much the bottom line.

you're still padding the facts...if you are going to make a statement, make a true one...go back and read the article.

Ah you are referring to 499 attacks. Kido, i can expect some thing childish from you. You are making 499 or 498 a big issue. If you read the title of th ereport it says 500 ATTACKS but only 1 by Islamists.....Now like a good boy fill in the blank

    500-1 = ----------

If your math say it 498 then ok, there were 498 attacks rather than 499...happy now?

What I am saying is that you will pad the facts to fit your agenda, which has been see by everyone in this thread....go back and read the article, and then argue your points against what Lorien and I posted.

d16man arguments like this make you look foolish. They really do not help your cause at all. You wonder why many question your age it is because at times like this you split hairs about details of someone claiming 499 when you find the number being 498. The relevance is absolute insignificant. If the only way that you can declare "victory" in a debate is to argue minuscule, insignificant facts and numbers then you have already lost.

So what? European separatist groups are in Europe, at home.
They don't blow themselves outside they home. They don't do anything in arab countries.
I'm against any Spanish terrorist blowing stuff in Saudi Arabia

I understand what it means. Here's my point.

How many "separatist terrorist groups" are there in Europe? Let's say there are 100 of them. They account for 50% of the terrorist arrests. Islamic terrorists account for the other 50%.

If you totally squash, let's say, 5 of those groups you've just prevented 2.5% of future terrorist threats. If Islamic terrorists stopped plotting to kill people (or were arrested), you've prevented 50% of future terror threats.

And; since these other groups mostly plot to blow up a car or something; and the islamic terrorists plot to blow up mass groups of people; it makes sense to focus on them, doesn't it?

Are you proud that islamists account for 50% of arrests or did you think it'd be higher (or lower?). That one religious group accounts for 50% of arrests is pretty startling to me. Should be to you too.

Imagine the damage if those 50% of arrests were let free and were free to plan their destruction. Wouldn't the backlash against islam and muslims be even greater? You should be thankful the authorities go after them, if you want muslims to be perceived as non-threatening.
