$ 500 for a Webmaster Forum - Invest Money

Hey guys,

I have $ 500 for promoting my webmaster forum !!

What do you suggest, what is a good method to get members and posting??

All input is appreciated!

 

with 500 dollars you can get 500 members.

one dollar for each member payout.
you need to tell them to signup and post 10 posts.

to stop the same member from signing up prevent duplicate signup from the same ip.

yes you can get 500 members but they will
never active because only those members
are active who are impressed by your
services so try to keep traffic on forum
those who will be impresses must join it.

people will join his forum only when there is content, who will join an empty forum?

and also can he write so much content by himself as 500 people.

also he should check where it is quality content.
delete the post which is not good quality and tell them to make another post.

with good content you can get good traffic.

For starter get a vbseo license, with rest hold and promote a contest or buy paid posts.

 

500 members post 10 posts each, is 5000

but that won't be good quality I guess..

Google Adwords may be a good solution. Invest $250 in an Adwords campaign, and do some SEO optimatization ...
The only way to get an active forum is by having active members. By paying members to post is not a very good way to make your forum better. 98% of the people that have posted won't come back after they are paid. Just attract visitors and if they find what they were looking for, they'll stay. And also what has been said before, content is the key to success

 

But the problem is, no one would join an empty forum, no matter how hard you promote it!

 

.... or you could ask yourself why you are investing in a web master forum UNLESS it has a point of difference that makes it compete with the hundreds already out there.

My advice... use that $500 and come up with features in your that make it different and give your forum a differentiating point that makes people want to come there. If you can do that you'll have users flocking to use your forum.

With any business its all about points of difference.

 

I think you should probably spend half on getting posts, and half on advertising. Nice domain btw. Hard to get a 3 letter domain.

 

Well as a runner of a active webmaster forum, I can tell you right now paid posts will not help you!

It will in un web related niches but webmasters know better!

It is running for 7 months now and has over 15,000 posts and over 800 members!

$500 isn't a lot. I would strongly suggest posting a lot of quality content and spending the $500 on advertising in premium paid directories. Google will find you and actually value your content then, trust me on this one..

Be prepared to make 50+ posts per day. Avoid paid posts on this particular topic, but it's ok to reward quality posters, perhaps with a "post of the week" type contest. Allowing signature links is a good way to attract webmasters. Write some posts that webmasters might find controversial. You don't want to offend anybody, but you should attract them to the conversation. Other than that, just promote your site anywhere webmasters might visit regularly and make sure to promote your contests and any benefits they might get by being a regular participant ("free signature links, drive traffic to your site!" etc). After paying for contest goodies, spend your remaining money on Adwords.

 

Remove that Vbadvanced if you cannot write news articles. Its better to just have the forum displayed on the main page. You already have 15,000 posts, so you already have the content that is needed for the start of forum. Don't buy paid posting ever, all your money will be wasted. Paid Posting is needed only for the start of the forum or to show off as active forum when your marketing is in full acceleration.

You might want to get VBSEO, it will be extremely helpful.

The $350 left, invest all in link building, that will help increase the ranking of the site, as well as internal threads ranking. Link building + VBSEO is the best usage of cash to improve a forum.
