I have to admit, I'm a n00b, but I can pass some relevant information, here is my problem.

I had, past tense, a bunch of Wordpress blogs, a few proxy sites etc. One day I had 500 errors, host said that it looked like a htaccess error problem and to delete it (them) till sites came up, I did just that and they did.

Now, other day, working on Wordpress blogs, 500 errors come and go, finally, all my Wordpress blogs down, all proxy sites down, but all of my html extension sites up.

I found all instances of htaccess and deleted, 500.
I deleted all of my Wordpress blogs, 500
I deleted all of my cron jobs, 500
I deleted all of my sql databases, 500

Strange thing, I deleted the root host site, nothing there, but a empty htaccess file is there, delete it, and it recreates itself. Also noticed that when the Wordpress blogs up, if I delete the htaccess file, they recreated themselves, also in the proxy sites.

Heck, I'd be happy just to have my one proxy top site up, work on everything else later.

The error logs in cpanel metion end of index error?

I'm stuck on this one, any suggestions?:(

you can take a look at apache error log to see what's going wrong. Do you have any security stuff on server?

I think I had an errant Joomla install that was causing the problem, I deleted that folder and the sites came back up!

    Thanks for the help!
