some small changes

 

The menus are a little too dull now, I preferred those white, I just wanted something different for the links because the links look lost since they're so small in there. Some sort of stylish button/block style with hover effect, they could even overlap the right side of the menu container. I think that'd look cool. The view more buttons could be a different colour, maybe as overhanging flaps at the bottom of the menu or something.

The link sections are almost there, make the rows the same height as the row with The Uninvited in and use straight white as the background for the lighter ones and then the other ones a little lighter. You could take out the rating text too and just have the stars there, that'd be cooler.

 

I've been making those changes you'd like and here's an update. I will continue to make changes to improve the design but I just wanted to update you when I completed the changes you asked for.

I also added a genre box which can show the popularity among genres in an interesting way-- almost like a tag cloud.

I wasn't sure if you wanted the featured slider or not so I've shown you both versions. My original idea was to have the slider only on the front page to show the newest stories.

I like the new updates in edit 2. It wouldn't need the a-z on the homepage though would it, keep that and we'll use it for the channel page if you win and I need you to do some more pages for me. The font could be a little smaller in the links rows I think and change release date to channel because the homepage will show latest links from all channels, not just movies.

Great work though! It's slowly becoming a masterpiece.

I added little icons to each title representing what type of media it is. I kept the original version below, though, if you don't like the icons. Let me know if you want me to remove them.

EDIT: Another update. I widened the layout so that it doesn't feel so narrow. I think it made a dramatic improvement!

They're great. I know I said I won't be using thumbnails but the bottom version really uses them so well that I think I would use them here, and the other version could be used for the channel pages.

Great work, this is going to be so hard to pick winners. I might end up picking 3 at this rate.

I love the wider one. Just wondering, why does the blue header cut off on the right? Does it hang on the right side of the page or something?

I'm not really feeling the new one, I don't know what it is, when I look at it, I just think "plain" but I'm not sure what's making it feel this way since there is plenty of colour.

I prefer the old one, It's great, I'm just not feeling the right menus still, give me some hot hover effects on them (see groffy's design for example on left menu) and the rows in the table rows need more space because they're so thin, that's all that's knocking it for me.

Yep, it seems so, but I think you are compensating by managing the contest in a beautiful and professional manner.

Would be great if the contest system would allow us to make some sort of a transitory assurance deposit.
