Although I wont be entering because I can't handle designing anything bigger than a logo ( I just get lost ), I would just like to say what a fantastic contest this has been with billiantly creative entries, I will be looking forward to seeing the winners tomorrow.

However, all entrants deserve a well done - I can imagine in took quite some time to put all of that text into the movie lists regardless of the quality of the design

Hey, thanks for the feedback, heres the design without the effects on the blue bars, I do agree with you, it looks better, I have also added a hover effect on the menu tabs to the left.

Marty, thanks for the comments! Are there any specific changes or additional ideas you have for my design. I'm up for anything at this point. If not, I'll be sure to get all my final work in before the contest is up.

I've just submitted my entry. I've been monitoring this thread for a while, and it took me over 30 hours to complete my design. Regardless, good luck to everyone.

 

I hate how people come into contests last minute after everybody else has been working hard to figure out exactly what the contest holder wants.. they come in and make a design copying all the elements from other peoples designs. That's pretty sh!tty of them if you ask me.

Regardless, I've made a bunch of changes to my design and I have a minimum of five different variations. Of course the changed elements in each design can be swapped around so that everything you like is in the final product (I starred the ones that are my favorite).

This design has a changed user menu, modified sidebar boxes, and various changes to the content area.. (headings, label bar, and item hover).

Yeah.. I mean I'm fine with people taking my ideas as long as they use their own creative way to incorporate them. It may not be obvious to most people, but some people here have copied my ideas and implemented them almost exactly the same way in my design. How do I know this? Because I have a unique style that very few people have. I find new ways to design things that are out of the ordinary-- and when somebody copies that, I can tell.

I'm not naming anybody specifically or trying to cause any problems. I'd just like people to know that it really is unprofessional to do that sort of thing. The purpose of these contests is to create the best design for the client and copying other peoples' work without your own creative style is only going to result in carbon copies which is a slap in the face to the other designers and the client.

Lmao.. I wasn't talking about you at all, neither was Marty. I'm talking about only two people in this thread. I think you misunderstood everything. Marty didn't even comment back on your design, he commented on que_passa's accusing him of copying a design. Then I said "since when are you que_passa" because you responded to Marty's comment toward que_passa thinking it was toward you.
