We have been in business for almost 7 years and in the process have grown quite a bit. Our business is called Fifty Seven Degrees (57°) due to the ideal temperature to store wine. Our facility offers temperature controlled wine storage, we have a wine retail store, and a high class wine bar. We offer public events like art festivals and wine tastings as well as private events for businesses and even weddings. We consider ourselves a "wine emporium"

We are currently redesigning our website and have decided we need to get a logo that can represent our business. We are not designers, so we would like you to use your imagination, but there are a few things to keep in mind while designing this. First, although we are what we are now, we will soon be making our own wine and will need to incorporate this logo into our wine label. Also, we prefer to have the logo include both the numbers "57" as well as the words "Fifty Seven Degrees". We prefer something modern in style, and are thinking of common grape colors like greens and reds, as well as gold.

Our original "logo" you can see here:
    http://fiftysevendegrees.com/images/building/DSC_0180.JPG

One though we had was to have something like this picture encompasses perhaps as a sketch style where you have the sign hanging out from the front of a steeple of a barn or something, but this idea is not a must, just a concept.

Our new website is in development, but you can see the progress to get more details on who we are and the color schemes we are working with:
    http://fiftysevendegrees.com/newsite

So to conclude, we need a logo that not only suits our website and our physical business, but also can be used for a wine label. The logo ideally will have both numeric and alpha characters for "fifty seven degrees". It will be modern styling. The winning creator will give up copyrights for the image for $50 paid via paypal upon our choice and will send us the logo file(s). This contest will go for 3 days. You can post images on this thread or PM me your concepts. Good Luck

    DrD,
The glass looks like a martini instead of a champagne/wine glass. Also, is it possible to incorporate real images such as grapes/vines/glasses instead of making it all animated?

@ Shehmirdp: These look nice, but almost too much like a casino or something... to glitsy. Try to use some more mild colors and see if you can somehow incorporate a real image into your logo. You do have talent I can see that.

@Hollydaze: I like this. I am curious to see if you had vines in and out of the numbers rather than just overlaying them. Maybe some more fill and bolder lettering. Also, is it possible to use a real image for the grapes? Also, could you try to put some small green leafs on the grapes using animated image you have?

@ actioN: Here is some constructive critisism for you. I am not in love with this. For one we are not branding T-Shirts, we are branding a business. It looks like more of a neon sign than something I would see on a classy wine lable. Please consider revising using more neutral colors too.

To everyone who is attempting this logo: Our business owner and I have been going back and forth on whether we want a logo with an actual image (like ones from istockphoto.com) and just having an animated logo. I have yet to see someone put together a logo using acutal images of grapes/wine bottle/glass/corks. We would greatly appreciate some like this.

Here is my second try. I changed up the grapes to use real ones instead of the cartoon looking ones. Also altered the green to be a more natural "green grape" tone, along with changing the font and the font coloring and style. Please let me know what you think.

@ Holly, A few things we would like to see. First, can you change the grapes to red instead of green? We were also thinking of making the vine itself more of a brown natural color rather than green. A leaf could be added to the vine that is swirling on the botton of the five between the 5 and 7. Finally, is there a way to maybe make the letters have a deeper shadow effect? It should add some depth to it. Thanks.

Of course, I can most certainly make those changes. I should have it up in a little bit.

Okay so, red grapes instead of green.
Vine is now brown in color matching the actually brown vine of the red grapes.
A leaf added below the 5 and 7 on the vine
and a deeper shadow effect on Fifty Seven Degrees.

    I hope I got it all? :)

Let me know if you need anything else. This logo was fun to create and I am loving the creative transformation from beginning to end.

@Rice: This is great. A few ideas we have for this. Can you put the glass between FIFTY and SEVEN? Also, I am curious if you can do this just so I can see what it would look like, but is it possible to put this logo on the front of the peak of a store? What I mean is, if you can create a lightly traced framework peak (like the one in the image I put in original post) facing strait on and put this on the peak?
