Hi, I have a possibility to get a link on a website of PR5 (if you go to domain.com). This website has got approx. 50 pages(domain.com/Page_title/) and almost all of these pages have a PR4. I can only get a link from these 50 pages. I would like to promote my new blog that currently has got a PR0. Any idea what PR to expect after that campaign? Thanks! - Wit
I read somewhere a link from a PR5 would get you indexed by google within like 48 hours or something and a PR6 it would happen within 24.
Hmm, traffic?? Maybe a little. I don't want another discussion about the importance of PR here. Still,... Having two identical websites that target the same keyword, the one that has links from on-topic websites with higher PR's will be on top in search engine rankings... ?
I "think" and this is a "theory", if you get 1 link on 50 pages on a PR5 site, it only counts as one. I dont think you get any extra "google juice" for having an incoming link on 50 different pages on the same site. However, if you have 1 link on 50 different web sites on different IP's etc, then you will do pretty well in terms of ranking and getting PR. The rumour is that PR does not count much for anything any more but I am sure it matters somewhere in the google algo. Personally I like to see my sites with good Page Rank. During the last update I saw some of my sites lose 1 or 2 points on PR but traffic has been the same, so go figure.
A single link from a PR5 is good, but you may wish to consider getting links from multiple places. Your link popularity is as important as the PR of the sites linking to you. Submit articles to article directories, send out news releases, submit to link directories (high PR ones). Hope this helps.
Wow, this is a great list. Keep on posting such great resources if you have more. I have added this page to my favorite folder.
Do not expect anything. Big G does what they think of a page not too much dependent on back links. I have had too many sites with PR without backlinks and when I started getting backlinks PR dropped
One link will not be enough to get you a high PR. Get a few more high quality backlinks and we could talk about PR2-3
