Contest $50 Logo/Mascot Contest. 5 days. Feedback Given. PayPal Payment

Hey DP Designers.

After my last successful contest. I have decided to hold another one.

What I need is a logo/mascot for a new site of mine.

My site is called FPS Kiwi.

FPS stands for First Person shooter. And is the acronym for these sort of games.

The site is targeting New Zealand FPS game players.

For the mascot I would like to see a kiwi in an army uniform with a few weapons on him. Eg: 2 rifles strapped to his back in a X looking form. A knife on his belt. A pistol. And him holding a gun.

I would also like to see a silver fern on his army uniform some where. A silver fern looks like this: http://www.silverfernz.com/ProdImages/parrs/029Fp.jpg

I would like this all to look quite cartoonish.

The design will need to look good on white and black.

Colour scheme I would like for the font,

white background
- Black FPS
- Green Kiwi

black background:
- White FPS
- Green Kiwi

The green colour that I like is this one: However I would like it to look quite glossy.

I would like the logo and mascot to look quite web 2.0

The contest will end in 5 days.
The winner will receive $50
The winner will be paid via PayPal.

EDIT: Forgot to mention. The winner will need to provide me with the PSD file of the winning design.

Scorpion: I like the font used. However that does not look like a kiwi. Would like something that looks more like a kiwi.

EDIT: Just saw that you did a kiwifruit. This is a Kiwi the animal. Not Kiwifruit. Sorry if I wasn't clear about that.

 

Hi there! Here's my try. Mascot will be colored after feedback. The coat will be in camouflage as well as the hat.

 

Yep, that was 4 hours of hand sketching on graphics tablet thinking you were referring to a kiwi fruit, it might have been the specifications of the color green & the word kiwi together in the brief that made it sound like the fruit to me... If I get more time I might try for the other kind of kiwi. I'm sure you'll get more entries from other designers here though.

Haha omg scoprion I was thinking about entering into this compeition, and I thought "nah, someone like scorpion or renderwork with their mad illustration skills is going to win this one" and then I saw your entry and I was like "damn, my thoughts were correct"
I was thinking it was a kiwi fruit too. lol very cool design though scorpion! I think he should change his enter site to kiwifruit just for your design =D

 

Zyntel. I like that design. But could he please have the pistol in his belt. And be holding more of a machine gun please. Also the stencil font is a bit too simple and cliche.

New Concept
Ok, I had a few hours spare time today & decided to enter this contest again, this time I illustrated a Kiwi (BIRD).

Thanks, I actually enter contests like these in my spare time as added brand exposure (The prize money is a good bonus of course).

Just some advice, even though your not going to win. Practice and Learning are very great and really improves your skills. Never mind he going to win, but you can enter and maybe the CH likes your concept or w/e. Try it, you are amazing to. And scorpion, very good work!

There is nothing I can suggest for you to improve on.

Zyntel: Thanks for the revised entry. I like the font and can't wait to see the kiwi come to life with colour and such.

Redeemer: The sketch looks nice however I can't quite tell what he is holding in his hand?

 

It's a minigun, like Heavy's in TF2.

 

Ah I see it now. It looks good. I like the concept. Avid TF2 fan myself

 

Glad to hear that you're a TF2 fan. Is there anything else you would like to see before I make it vector graphic?
