Contest $50 Logo design contest for travel blog

Hi everyone,

I am back with another logo design contest.

Hopefully this will be a 48 hour design competition but I reserve the right to keep it running longer if I don't find a design that I like.

The winner will receive $50, paid promptly using paypal.

This time I require a logo for a travel blog called

suitcase monster

Firstly I will outline the technical requirements and then I will go into the design brief.


Technical Requirements.

Logo size - 1200px x 300px.

It's very important that it matches the size above as I have to reduce the logo down to
180px x 45px for my website theme

When designing the logo, please bear in mind that it has to be easily viewed at 180px x 45px

The logo has to be designed in a vector based programme.

I require the logo files in 2 formats:
1. .png format with a transparent background size 1200px x 300px
2. vector file format so I can use it in the future for making large logos for posters.

NOTE: I REQUIRE the vector file so I can make the logo as big as I want for future promotions.

I want a modern "app like logo" with the words

Look at the following logo:


As you can see, the panda is artistically designed. It doesn't look like a panda, but it's obvious it is a panda character.

When it is reduced down to a small size, the logo is still very clear, and can be seen to be a panda. To me, the panda graphic itself would make a great app icon.

I want my logo to be a graphic at the left, the words to the right, similar to bored panda.

Now look at these following images:





I found these amazing suitcases online and want these to act as inspiration of what a

I'm looking for you to come up with a simple character, similar to bored panda, but the subject of the character will be a

suitcase monster

I don't want you to copy any of these suitcases, I want an artistic representation, like the bored panda character.

I have not decided on a colour yet, but it will be a one colour design.

I hope this project captures your imagination and I'm excited to see what type of characters you will produce.

The words should appear next to the logo in lowercase.

I am unsure of what font to use for the words, so I will leave it up to you.

The main consideration is that it is modern, minimalistic and reads easily when the logo is reduced down to the size of 180x45 pixels.

One problem: A jpg can't have a transparent background. You would need a png or gif for that.

180 x 45 pixels. It is 2 colors though. Is there a specific reason that it has to be one color?

Thanks for entering but this is not anything like I am looking for at all. I'm trying to give constructive criticism here without sounding cheeky.

It looks like it was drawn in microsoft paint in a few seconds, looks very unprofessional, doesn't have the feel of the panda example I gave, the font is not modern or clean or minimalist. I don't feel you understood the brief properly.

The logo I'm looking for is to be an abstract version of a "suitcase monster" following the type of inspiration I showed with the panda.

You are welcome to enter more versions, but you will really need to up your game to be taken as a serious contender.
