    Good morning all,

I would like to start a logo competition for a new smart phone app we are creating.

I have set a duration of 7 days.

Here is our URL's (Nothing on them yet)

    www.SPOTmapping.com
    www.SPOTmapping.co.uk
    www.spotmapping.uk

My attempts: (Attached) But boring and totally open to ideas.

    Specifications:

    1 x PSD file (1024x1024)
    1 x transparent PSD file (1024x 1024)

    Here is the background:

SPOTmapping.com aka SPOTmap (Spotmap.com not available) is a smart phone app designed for the international security community.

It is a Security community based multi layered mapping system.

The map has 10+ map layers (Each of which can be toggled on/off)

Each layer is like a layer on photoshop in that the layer will show a significant location.

i.e. If you toggle on Hospitals – All hospitals within that area will appear as SPOTS

Again, if you want Police stations – then all the stations in that area will appear etc etc

The toggle options are listed below but not limited to:

    • Hospital

    • Police station

    • Police station (Armed)

    • Embassies

    • 5 star hotels

    • Michelin restaurants

    • Etc etc
The word Spot MAP comes from the military and as the name suggests is a map which is preloaded (Written on with friendly and enemy forces). Within the smart phone map this equates to locations of Police stations/Firebrigade/Places of safety/Army camps etc. In the case of enemy forces this may be areas of high crime (To stay away from and reported incidents within the city – There is a facility to report an incident to the community)

I have already pre loaded many locations Globally.

    My ideas are:

    Map symbol
    Globes

I want it to be clean and simple and the logo will be used on the IPhone /Andriod app store

    Thank you

    John

    Hello,

I tried to replace the letter 'O' with map elements and globe. I am not able to post high quality png images because of the size, so I just posted the jpeg images.

    Thank you guys,

As a relative newbie to this not sure what the 'Protocol' is - so apologies in advance.

Out of the three so far I prefer the minimalistic feel of Sabit's entry. I think having the logo in the O would work - but the logo also needs to be strong enough to stand on its own as an icon / avatar.

That said I wouldn't say I'd use it, but like the 'vibe'.

I think the actual logo is the main area to concentrate on. Don't worry about the wording - that's fairly simple in the grand scheme of things.

I'm liking the minimalistic look of this. Moving in the right direction.

The website forum we are also involved with is www.closeprotectionworld.com

Maybe a blend of that website colour scheme / logo
    g them
