i think he has targeted specific visitor on website and visitors cliks adsense ads to find out someting but main question where you traffic comes from? trc4949
I need to learn from you guys...The maximum I could make in a day is $1.97 for last 2 months. www.newfacesindia.com
TRC, Good on you mate. If you are not doing anything fishy, against the TOS or misleading to your visitors, keep up the good work, then come back here and start a thread like Critters' or Shoemoney's. I´ll watch out for it!
Am I reading this right??? You make $10 for every 50 impressions!!! Wow!!! That's a $200 eCPM. This is sky high! Typically, in web advertising (non-Adsense/non-affiliate), a $5-$6 eCPM is considered standard. I have heard many Adsense/affiliates do better. But, a 3-figure eCPM is considered incredible! Don't be surprised if it's difficult to keep this when getting 1,000 impressions/day.
In the education industry it's not too difficult to maintain $250 eCPM.. since those ads pay on avarage $1/click. I got a site which has made $2,700 in a little over three months with *very* few impressions. The industry is very competetive though.. and ranking high is not easy.
Do you have content on your site? Or Or are they trying to escape. I have to agree that having consistant high level of clicks with such a low volume is odd. It would make more sense if you got 15 of 50 one day, and then 0 for 50 the next day.
I don't know if a a CTR over 20% raises a red flag, but those results are not that unusual for certain types of sites and google won't do anything as long as you aren't doing anything against the TOS. As far as maintaining that CTR, it all depends on how you increase your traffic. It is certainly possible to maintain a CTR in excess of 20% - especially if your site is not prone to repeat visitors i.e. a site that give information on an event or situation that usually only happens once to a person vs. a general forum where you get the same visitor returning weekly or daily. Of course, building traffic is a lot harder for a "one time" situation where you aren't likely to get repeat visitors.
You're a contradiction in terms fryman. You stated clearly in another thread that you have some sites with 50% CTR yet here you're all doom and gloom. So are you allowed to have 50% CTR but noone else is?
Geez... did you even notice the date of this thread? It is 5 months old... In 5 months I built loads of sites and realized that getting a high CTR is possible without any problems.
It's quite possible. Some days I average higher CTR 15-25% on some of my sites and it brings in good amounts of money.
I think the key is to know what's normal for your site and to react accordingly. If your CTR is normally 5% and it suddenly jumps to 30%, take notice because Google surely is. Every site's different, though, so there's no magic number that can be quoted. But when I was seeing a 70% CTR on one of my sites I was pretty suspicious and yep, it was click fraud...
Have you ever considered lower CTR may actually INCREASE earnings? It requires a lot of trial and error, but you might be surprised.
I have not been on these boards very long, about 4 days or so ... !! .. but I am really surprised at the lack of discussion about eCPM. Lots of chat on CTR, CPC, but little on the most important of them all ...
I have never crossed 5% of CTR for the site in my signature. i am not sure what is wrong, perhaps ad placement is not well optimized. can anyone suggest anything?
The Webmaster, first of thats not a bad CTR for this type of theme. That said, I would recommend that you visit, read and APPLY what you find on this link from google: http://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/static.py?page=tips.html Go for the hot spots and i promise you will do signifucantly better. ps. i few days after applying the changes you will agree that you owe me a beer or three !! best of luck
