is that doing pretty good? must admit I am a little surprised of the revenue based on the low traffic i get does this mean that if i multiply my traffic by a factor of 10 that I can also multiply my revenue by about 10 too ? so 500 hits a day equals 100 dollars a day? tc
If it is regular then it is good. otherwise sometimes you can get much better of it. one day i got about 14 in 24 hits
a hit is usually interpreted to be an impression, so you'd better clarify. If that IS what you mean, your results are enough to raise an eyebrow.
Try talking in terms of visitors, clickthrus etc. Hits implies 50 requests of your server (for example: if your page has 4 graphics on it thats 5 hits) which would imply ten pages are viewed, which could be just one visitor).. That's not too bad tho - even if you mean clicks or visitors. Cheers, JL
I think he means he gets 50 visitors a day. He says he has low traffic, and he mentions multiplying his traffic by 10. I smell something fishy, because that would mean a quarter or more of his traffic is clicking on links. I'm lucky if I get 1 or two ad clicks, and my traffic is slowly increasing.
Exactly, I can't follow a discussion when people start talking about hits... 99% of the time they are confused and just don't know what they are talking about so you have to guess if they mean total visitors, unique visitors, impresisons...
i apologize for the confusion, i meant 50 unique visitors per day... and earning about 10 dollars per day based on 50 unique visitors per day I smell something fishy, because that would mean a quarter or more of his traffic is clicking on links. actually i am not doing anything fishy... i have never clicked on my own ads or anything like that.. maybe it is because my visitors spend on average about 3 minutes on my site per visit? not sure why they are so click happy.
I'm getting about 50 unique visitors a day with 3 min. average time and I'm more in the neighbourhood of $1 a day. What's your secret? Better yet, what's your URL?
well actually it is not always 10 bucks per day it flucutates quite a bit.. my site so far has about 30 pages or so. i am going to bust my ass and see if I can try to grow traffic to 500 per day.. i guess then i will know if that also multiplies the revenue by 10 too.. i doubt it, but who knows.. i will report back here when and if i am able to do it.
well, i dont really have a big secret.. but here are a couple hints. it is in a higher paying niche.. sort of like tech field.. it is a blog and one of the things i have tried to do is make the blog very clean and not too busy with too many choices of other links and graphics etc. i did the standard blending in of the ads into the site colors... perhaps people click on the google ads thinking that they are regular links and then hit the back button and click another ad? im not sure..
Well... I can only imagine since you can't discuss specific details, but how is your CTR? If it is over 20% it might start to trigger some red flags. If the clicks are coming from regular visitors of your site it can also trigger the flag
Aha! On some of my sites I do WAY worse than that, but on some private ones (won't mention them here) I am actually doing that well or better with AdSense, it's amazing
the problem is I only have 15 days of data... maybe it always starts out high like this.. and then goes down... i guess over time i will have a better idea of what to expect and see how everything averages out. anyway, thanks all the good feedback.
Your earnings will vary depending on the keyword(s) you are promoting. Some pay much higher than others.
