$50 Header + Logo Contest

Hi,

I'm looking to change iamboredr.com header design to achieve a new look for 2009!

The new header will need to have a logo, tabs, a search box and a 728x90 advertising banner. It should have a slick header like:

http://www.atom.com/

Most imptly, the overall header must matched the site body design.

Payment made via paypal only and contest closed in 5 days time.

Ybbot: I'm looking for something that's more slick. The logo is too big and I don't really like the color. Also, it doesn't really going to match with the body (the feature section) of the website. Good effort though!

 

Anyone is giving this a go?

my try:

 

dseer: slick logo but I don't like the random alignment of each letters and also the white background surrounding the slogan.

Jokomamamita: I like the logo but it doesn't seems to match the whole header and body. If you can revamp the entire header and not follow the exisiting positioning, that will be good.

I need someone to forget abt the current design and invent a brand new design of the entire header, ie: tabs, search field position and ad position. So, it's basically from the editor's picks section onwards.

Joko: Logo is good but I prefer it to be on the right still. Not sure whether is it possible to have an iconic symbol that will "brand" iamboredr.com like digg.com little man with a spade. Perhaps we can do something unique to the letter "i"

Is there a way you can make the entire header transparent instead of the current black one so that it will takes any background as the overall header background. I still like the stripes concept but can that be made transparent as well so that it will still shows the stripes no matter what background is used. (Hope you understand what I mean, if not I'll elaborate)

Tabs wise, I'm looking for something that will take up the entire width of the body rather than "floating" buttons.

So far you have the best design but before I commit to your concept, I'll have to wait for the others who is going to submit theirs but do work from my comments and I'm pretty sure you are heading in the right direction.

As for the iconic symbol, I made the "i" to like a person but I have totally no idea on how to depict a 'bored' person using that particular "i" alphabet. Perhaps if you have any ideas in mind it would be great. =)

And, as for the transparent thing, I can even provide you with a transparent version so that it would fit in with any type of background as you mentioned. =)

Jokomamamita: Hmm.. the 2 hands and the "head" doesn't look appealing. Think the original one was better. Still not liking the tab design. Perhaps a better font and a different shade of tab color will do the trick.
