I only want to spend $50 to raise one of my site's PR of 0. What is most efficient/ effective way to spend $50 to raise PR? Thanks.

    p.s. I have 2 real backlinks (1 on a pr4 blog and one on a pr1 blog) so far

You can do it without spending $50 no problem at all. Just submit to a load of free directories and leave your link lying about a few web forums. You've probably already got a PR higher than zero just from your two links - it isn't that hard.

Good points, but I am trying to get the highest PR possible from $50. Any suggestions/ good sites to buy backlinks from that might also boost traffic?

I would head to the BST forum and see what link sales they've got - something cheap with as high a PR as possible. You should be able to get some permanent PR3 links for about $5 each if you look around. I really would advise hitting the directories - aim for those that are free and don't require a recip link.

Another idea would be to go to the BST section and advertise for 'job for 10 forum posters". Tell each of them to join a forum (which you've already checked out for PR value) and post 50 posts, including your signature link, for 10 cents per post.

    1. put up links in your forum signatures
    2. submit to all the directories that are announced in dp and vilesilencer (better chance of getting approved and faster if the directories are new)
    3. spend the $50 on buying permanent links in blog posts

    good luck!

Buy a site wide PR5 link on my site for only $10

    That should do the trick!

daboss is right. You can probably get to PR4/5 with $50 no problem. Also look for blogs that don't use the nofollow flag in comments and post to them.

Prices differ, look through link offers on sites, contact siteowners and check some link malls out there - you'll definitely find plenty of offers matching your budget. For instance, try this http://talk.iwebtool.com/links-for-sale-forum/

Don't spend anything. :) Add the link to forum signatures, and put it in articles that you submit to places like http://www.goarticles.com. Neither of these cost a penny, and they will give a far better return than $50 ever could.

You can increase your PR by just submitting to directories and doing link exchange. But if you really have a budget, you can buy high PR links. But make sure to use your budget wisely.

Try those perm listings in directories.
Or get those site wide links.

Are there any other methods than buying links (including directories), posts on blogs and articles? Thanks for all the input so far

If getting a PR is important to you, then $50 is heaps if you have a notworthy site.

On one of my sites, I made a $40 PRWeb Press release and from that I got 310 backlinks. I also got a PR4. I have done nothing else to promote the site.

PR4 is trivial and there has been a lot of suggestions already as to how easy it is to get and things taht you can do.

All of my newest sites got their first PR update recently and jumped right to 3 (for one that launched in December, so I didn't think it would get PR yet anyway) up to 5 (for two of my newest writing-related sites). I don't spend a cent on trying to raise their PR. I just add links for a while to my DP sig and my other forum sigs, add a link on some of my other websites, and add links to pages hosted elsewhere like Squidoo lenses (create a lens on the topic so it's related), my myspace profile, etc. I don't even waste my time submitting to tons of directories or anything like that. A few decent links can do wonders. And then I try to create things that people naturally link to on their own, so my sites are pretty regularly featured in related blogs and such. My sites usually get decent PR pretty quickly following that method, and when people link because they like what you're saying or doing, you tend to get some nice permanent links out of it, and word spreads quickly. Spend the money on something else... all you need to raise your PR is a bit of effort.
