Contest $50 contest - Need a Banner for the International Literacy Day

Hello Friends,

Am back once again with a new contest, the previous ones were great, so looking foreword tohave another exciting round of design contest,

On Guestcrew.com, we are starting a cause based campaign for the - September 8th, International Literacy Day 2014.

I need a graphic for it.
Size - 880 * 440 (This will be stretched to about 600 * 300, so do provide this size as well.)

The graphic must be unique and creative. Do not use any image or anything that you haven't made yourself. I need to be absolutely sure about the copyright and the legal issue - so make sure to only use things that you have made yourself. (No stock images, creative commons, copied, stolen etc. allowed.)

The Contest closes on the 15th of August. Will declare the winner on the 15th.

Make sure to use the Guest Crew logo and the text in the banner. You can find it on GuestCrew.com Keep the logo in the side, it should display properly but should not look promotional.

Do mention - September 8, International Literacy Day 2014
Do mention the Hashtag - #RightToLiteracy (To make this Hashtag more readable, you can use a different color for the word "To")

Feel free to use creativity in the graphics, text, etc.

also, I recently found out that the Facebook advertisement rules says that we can't add too much of text in the Image. So, don't use huge fonts for the text ... just make it readable and look nice.

Make it look good - web2.0 style. Reflective, shiny and good looking,

Here's my entry. With custom made icon, like before. Colors, fonts can be changed.

@uttoransen: I hope you have good eye for elevated designs and not fall for childish attempts such as #3 and #4. These "designers" don't seem to make a difference between original artwork and stolen vectors.
May I remind you dear contestants that we are in 2014 and design trends are different. If we continue to offend contest holders with over-used graphics there is no respect left.

Apologize uttoransen for such low competition. Eventually you will find something suitable.

 

Stolen vectors? Just who the hell do you think you are?

I actually should not really comment on such an attempt to discredit your fellow contesters, cause that is already show some lack of character on your side.

But I do need to remind you that your "original and elevated" design is very reminesent of stock creations that were popular about a decade ago.

 

You didn't design "globe-headers", right?
Contest holder expressed his wish "make sure to only use things that you have made yourself"
Also, it is a childish attempt, you don't have the experience to design at the level required.

 

Please,
1st, I don't think the contest holder needs a self appointed jury who will decide what is original and what not, especially when you yourself involved in the contest.
2nd, Although it is not really any of your business, the contest holder will receive all source files and will se how its done
3rd lets keep this thread for design entries only, so you can contact me in private if you have some more built up anger to went, because this conversation do already feel childish.

 

Please do find anything related to my design that supports your statement.
And yes, my design IS elevated

Contest holder needs some help because there are too many "designers" roaming free.
But I am sure he HAS the eye.

For design #4 search "seattle vector skyline"

I do have more people who looks into the contest when deciding the winner, so everything will be checked and analyzed before the winner will be decided.

Did they tell you that you have to buy vectors from stock sites.No, of course. How can be named use of something you didn't create? Vectors are all over the net, some designer create them and thousands of "free resources" sites put them on "available for free"

 

Hey loser, do you have the commercial license for the fonts you have used ?
Sorry for you, if you think every skyline in this world is a stolen vector.

Trust me, It is not that difficult to create a skyline, search google for tutorials or send me a pm.


Meanwhile.. Shut up and Let the contest holder chose what he needs to buy.

Sometimes, reading carefully could be really helpful.

 

Yeah right that's why i asked if you got the commercial license for the fonts you have used or did you create those fonts ?

Stop defaming other designers for no reason. If your entry is the best, you will win. So Relax..!!

Well in his book it would be still "stolen" so I have to assume that he sat down and created a custom set of fonts just to enter the contest
