$50 Contest - AquariumSpace!

    Fortunately I've been able to acquire a great domain (aquariumspace.com) to launch my aquarium and tropical/fresh/saltwater fish site. I've got a lot of the back end ready to rumble - I just need a jazzy logo! Primary colors should include the traditional blue for aquariums you'd expect. Regarding the logo itself, I'm looking for something that gets the point across of exactly what you'd expect - chat about your fish and fish tanks in the forums, put up pictures of your fish and tanks, talk to other members about your reef, etc. I'm open to whatever ideas you guys can come up with but I'll give you some guidance if needed. Pictures of obviously non-aquarium related fish or items won't go over well, e.g. sharks, divers, crabs, etc. So I'm looking forward to some of the great creativity I've seen here! Looking to wrap up the contest within a week and if there is one standout, I'm glad to award the prize quickly and I'm not averse to awarding a second prize as well for good work that sizzles!

    IMHO, it would be best that every contestant submit their designs via PM if a contest with a price above $50 .Therefore,only contest holder know all of the designs from each contestant.Once the contest holder decides the winner,the contest holder may post the design in this thread to announce the winner.Before the contest holder announce the winner,the thread will be a place for asking some questions around the contest being held.

    I think that way will keep the original work from each contestant.It's NOT about watermarking our works,it IS about our ideas we create the design itself !That is the value of the design ! Designer's creativities.

    Besides it's preventing from stealing ideas and works.I wish on each contest holders are not too LAZY to open their inboxes.We are giving our times here and it's not about a minute or two,it's about an hour or more :)

    SOMETIMES IMAGINATION IS MOST MORE IMPORTANT THAN KNOWLEDGE
    -Albert Einstein-

    Just my opinion guys :D
    Keep the contest rollin'

    Actually, I submitted my first entry via PM. The contest holder proceeded to give me very detailed feedback regarding me entry within an hour. The contests are in a section called a forum for a reason.

    xaralee has a point, always difficult for high end logos in contests. say 10 people enter (the standard is high here at dp) your design has 1 in 10 chance of winning. Ideas are copied and improved upon. Looking at it from an economics stance if you entered 10 contests like this you would win only $50(i play poker :) ). Not much point really ($5 a logo). But hey, good luck to everyone, ill submit my entry anyway!

    Xaralee - why, out of the blue, have you decided to intrude with long diatribe to discourage people to submit entries to a contest in my thread? This is no different than any other contest and you've got a lot of nerve having seriously affected this contest so that now freebanner has changed this thread to "so why am I entering here?" Quite frankly, many of these are drafts and those who have comments about where it's going have an idea who the winner is and I've said I'd work with people here but you've ignored that. I'll see how to handle this now that you've caused real damage here.

    I wouldn't worry too much about it mate, it happens quite often that people moan about concept thefts and stuff, I am pretty sure it won't stop people from posting their entries! They are very much used to posting in the thread for all to see. Good luck!

    slinky, just so you know, Xaralee's post did not affect me in any way :p I totally understand how things work, its a contest, every contest has different rules, you make them :) Either way I just like creating new designs! Xaralee was just posting an opinion where an opinion wasnt needed or really wanted, dont let him get to ya man!

    @slinky
    on the second thought,i think you're right.
    It was just my idea.I thought it would be great to made it that way.It's kind of designer's war ( in a positive way ).Sorry if you think bad about my idea.It was just my slightly idea.Suddenly came up in my mind and i shoot it here.That's all.No bad intention at all.
    Anyway,i'm entering my entries soon.

    @daveyBoy
    Yea mate,you're right.Actually it wouldn't bother that much about concept thefts and the like :)
    People will posts anyway :D

    Sorry guys if i make you all bad.I'm totally a newbie here.I hope you could understand :)

    My problem is that xaralee is participating in other contests and has decided to dump his dirty laundry here instead of, perhaps, submitting a logo.

    To begin, there is the benefit of other people seeing your work. I've hired other people here based upon my appreciation for their work even if they weren't contest winners. There is a matter of style of work that I know who is best suited for work. There is also the benefit of comments of learning how to hone your work to best deliver logos. But enough of this conversation. I'm going to comment on the submitters.
