As an MMA fighter and a huge fan of the UFC it is funny to see what pictures people are using! Kind of funny! But anyway, my biggest question is: The pictures being used are copywrited, are they just being stolen then resued for another business?
Wait a second, why is it funny? (I don't know much about the UFC, but I ran some of the images past a friend who knows a bit about it...) Fair usage, actually. Its how anyone ever gets anything done in advertising, hehe. Like how a store has pictures of products in its ad - its fair usage.
Some of the banners have pictures of guys who are no longer in the UFC or are on their last fight in the ufc. Just thinking if I were to spend money on a banner I would want it to be relevent!
They're being stolen and reused. Clearly I don't have permission to use them, nor can I get it. I'm not using them against the UFC in any way, in fact my website actively encourages people to be involved in UFC and watch events etc, so I would be shocked to get any sort of complaint. I'm assuming anyone creating a banner will be doing so in photoshop and using layers, if I like a design it'll be an easy job to swap out one fighter for another. As you will know there are loads of cuts (Din Thomas, Travis Lutter & Tommy Speer) going on so nobody is safe!
Okay, I will take these two designs for now. Potentially I will take more I'll make a further post tommorow, 2am and I've been awake too long to think, I need to go to my bed. The image above, I need "free to play" in it above the url. I also need the url spelled correctly Also I think using ufc fighters images is fine, but using the actual UFC logo is probably taking it too far. Can we swap that out for a fighters face or something? Not sure if it would fit into the design, I'm open to suggestions lilc09 if you have any better idea. I like the design of this and the way the fighter is standing with the belt. But the fighter in question is absolutely not the right one to use. I would need him changing for another champion from the following: Anderson "spider" Silva, Quenton "Rampage" Jackson or Antonio "minotauro" Nogueira. If I can have these changes made, then consider these both sold to me. I'll need the layered photoshop files, and I'll need the .ttf font files that were used sent to me also. A couple of people asked my about UFC by pm, a great site for it is MMAJunkie.com, and they also have a pretty cool forum on there too. Anyone interested should check it out. (No its not my site before anyone says ) Also if anyones interested in attending an event, I've got a spare ticket for UFC 85 which is in London in June, if someone from here wanted it I can meet them on the day or at my hotel that weekend (staying in the Hilton Docklands), I just want face value for it - I think it was about £50. cheers
