    Not really; obviously it does help, but on-page SEO is only around 15% towards your ranking on Google, around %5 of that is in-content keywords, so spending a hour optimizing articles for certain keywords, for that %5 increase, really isn't worth it.

    I think that the keyword must be in the content If you plan to monetize your site.
    Because this will highly help google adsense engine (Googlebot) to detect what kind of ads to send to your site/blog.
