5 Tips to Maximize Your Google Adwords Campaign
    by Stanley Tang

    1. Split Testing
You should always create at least two ads for any particular campaign so that you can run one ad against the other and test to see which performs best and which one has a higher return on investments and click through rates. Google rewards ads with good click through rate by giving you a higher ad placement, so a higher CTR means less cost per click. Once you have created two ads and see which one performs best, the one that performs best becomes the new control and you create a new ad and so on. So you are constantly tracking, testing and improving your ads.

    2. Creating Winning Headlines
If you have a good headline, people will click on it, even if your ad is crap. By split testing, you should be able to create winning headlines.

    3. Read Google's Optimization Tips:

    4. Targeted
Keep your ad targeted, not broad. Do not use general keywords such as “shoes”. You should narrow it down by using terms such as “tennis shoes”. Broad match is usually used by lazy advertisers or advertisers with a huge budget. The problem with broad match is that it decreases your click through rate and return on investment, so you should always try and target and narrow down your keyword market. This may mean that you will have to create one ad per keyword.

    5. Use the exact keywords or phrases that you are targeting in the title of your ad. It has proven to get a higher CTR.

    1. ROI is the single most important metric to measure and improve. Although CTR can effect quality score and therefore CPC, an advert with poor CTR might well turn into more conversions than one with a high CTR but which isn't as relevant to your offering. Don't obsess over CTR, obsess over ROI. I'd agree with split testing though - aim for 3-5 ads at the least though!

    2. Headlines are for attracting attention, ad copy is for pre-qualifying traffic. Don't ignore ad copy in the hunt for the 'best headline ever' - your CTR might increase but your conversions probably won't justify the expense.

    3. And every other piece of information you can find!

    4. Broad match != reduced CTR, although this can happen if you're not targetted. You're right though, in almost all cases, a highly targeted ad to a exact match keyphrase will convert better than a generalised term. Doesn't mean you should never use broad match though, or that broad match isn't the best option in certain situations.

    5. Almost a great suggestion. Use the exact keywords or phrases that the searcher used in the title of your ad - It has been proven to get a higher CTR. [Do some research on {KeyWord:Generic Title} ]

That's my feedback, and no link spamming in my post :)
