That's why it's important not to spam, keep adding value. Or if you can't add value and didn't understand the topic, then Ask. It's the simplest method. Why fight if you can join them. ;p

Killing two birds with one stone, one you get attention. two you get to learn more IMHO.

The comment must be on relevant and good quality blogs not on the spammy ones that allow rampant comments.

No. How is it scratch my back marketing? The blog owner doesn't have to comment on the other blog, plus the commentator's website doesn't have to be a blog, it could be something else, like a squeeze page etc.

Good tips but most people won't listen to you. Most people post great post or bookmarked it. I get a lot of comments on one of my blogs but people do not get it.

Scratch My Back Marketing is a link building program that includes branding and advertising into the link building process.

It can be used on any website that allows user generated content. The idea is to exchange useful content and comments in exchange for backlinks. That's the back scratching part.

You could do this using a variety of methods such as blog posts or comments or with a video. Just make sure that your comment relates to the topic and is at least 150 characters long. Also videos and blog posts should provide useful information and not be self promoting.

No, this is a good idea for blog that are hard to get comments accepted on... Think about it, when they see your comment with out a link the might think you are more concerned on leaving a comment then getting a backlink... Once your IP is accepted you'll be allowed to post till your heart is content... well unless they MOD every comment...

    Well that's my 2cents.

I think that blog commenting is a very hard work now. All tips mentioned are valid, but more and more blogs now have nofollow links or even not showing links at all.
It will require double time now. 1st you need to find blog post in your niche with dofollow comments, then you should make a valid point in your comment to get approved.
