Article, contains some profanity: http://www.cracked.com/article_16648_5-retarded-get-rich-quick-scams-people-still-fall.html I found this article very amusing considering some of the stuff that gets sold in the BST forum here. Hopefully it will save at least someone here some money and prevent you from getting scammed.
It's definitely a shame how many people get scammed. It can be really hard to avoid getting cheated in one way or another, whether it be a scam or a legitimate offer that just was not delivered or delivered as promised. I think probably all of us have fallen victim to that in some way. I'm all for working out a system that limits it as much as possible. iTrader was a good idea, but I can think of a number of enhancements that would make it more useful, for example.
This is a fascinating article, and it's sad that so many people get scammed sometimes. Thanks for sharing.
Thank for share this article and i think people who want quick rich or want money will very easy get scammed
Hi MelogKnaj, Thank you for pointing this out again. Unfortunally the whole of the internet is drenched with scammers. tc
You dont have to go looking for people, naive people come looking for you, ive had pm's from folk wanting me to teach, mentor, tell, show them how i wish i had the answers myself, lol A few years ago a guy making a living selling through ebay was chatting about things in an irc channel, he sold pills for penis enlargment and all that usual stuff, someone asked in the channel if the pills worked, he said of course they dont, but people bought them everyday so he sold them. The power of suggestion, just leading people to believe that something is worth paying for, quite sad but it will never stop.
Unfortunately for every con artist there is 100's of people who are too gullible to see it is a scam. Hopefully the more people that expose cons like these the more people who will wise up to them.
Unfortunately there are many more scams like this. The sales page usually claims you will make X amount and with little effort. What really happens is people are just lazy and so want to believe they can make money without effort and financial investment. They buy the product, many don't even read it, the ones that do read it realise they need lots more knowledge to carry this out and need to spend lots more money. An example: The premise Make thousands every month for a few minutes work getting paid to type or post ads The Reality Run an Adwords campaign There are however people selling genuine information right here on DP. At least on DP people do reviews.
I was laughing the whole way through the article. Its just inconceivable how stupid some people can be to fall for this BS.
Yeah, I read that article a few weeks ago. Cracked.com has some funny stuff. I guess the moral of the story is never trust a guy in a suit covered with question marks.
Awesome article. I think with the state of economy right now the season is here for scammers to sell even more poor quality products. A lot of people will spend their last few dollars on that stuff, ending up even worse finanically than before.
There are always suckers. People, who do not understand how the real world works, hope to get something for nothing, or very little. There is an unwritten law which contains a great truth. You make money by selling goods or services. You provide something people need, or are looking for. You get back in return the equivalent value, and effort that was put into providing the service, or product.
Hard work always pays. Many get rich quick guides do have good information but they can never tell you the tiny details of how things work. You will have to spend a lot of time figuring the details for yourself. You will have to fail a few times, try again and hopefully find something that really works..
