i took this article from http://ezinearticles.com/?Link-Buil...NoFollow-Links-Shouldnt-Be-Ignored&id=3473077

Many link builders ignore the 'NoFollow' attribute due to the fact that the search engine spiders will not visit or pass on 'link juice'. We are often asked if we include NoFollow links when planning a campaign strategy, and the answer is a resounding YES.

Here are 5 reasons why NoFollow links should be a part of any linkbuilding campaign:

    1. Profile: The single most important aspect of building a successful link campaign is maintaning a 'natural link profile'. The main search engines consider the type and balance of links and this profile must appear as natural as possible. If a web page only has high-PR DoFollow links, that site will appear to have an unnatural profile and may be penalised.
    2. Traffic: A link is a link is a link! The more traffic that is generated, the higher that websites profile becomes and the greater the chance that new natural links will be generated.
    3. Branding: The more a websites name and URL is seen within its target sector, the more 'trust' that is built within the community.
    4. Authority: Website links seen in conjunction with 'authorative' comments, posts and responses, build a greater level of authority, which pre-conditions visitors with positivity and can ultimately boost conversions.
    5. Relationship: Using the example of blog commenting, regular commenting will usually allow you to form a relationship with the blogger, often unlocking additional (DoFollow) link building opportunities.

So, it follows that NoFollow should be incorporated into any strategy as a means of extending the reach of your website both directly and indirectly.

Agreed, a natural link structure would contain both, over a vast platform of sites. Using only dofollow links, and all WP, or PHPBB could leave a footprint, you have to mix it up and remember links are links the more the better.

Note: Nofollow link will not pass link juice, but help you in increase your site's authority. Your site will index ASAP. If A site have 200 No follow backlinks and 100 dofollow backlinks and B site have 2000 no follow backlinks but only 2 dofollow backlinks. then B site will get higher rank than A site. Do follow is just to increase pagerank. Pagerank is just one factor from 200 other factors for SERP.

B site content will index much faster than site A. I have a blog with around 5000 backlinks and around 20 to 50 backlinks are dofollow(max). but whenever i update my blog , all new entries indexed by google and other search engines within 10 min after posting.

Remember one thing, Nofollow backlinks from pr 7 is much better than DOfollow backlinks from pr 1 or 2 because High pr Pages are treated as important pages and all backlinks from important pages are valuable.

I dont think ignoring no follow links are a good strategy ... No follow links just dont pass the PR juice, ,they get indexed and they help in SERP

Finally, a voice of reason. However, its been proven that the googlebot does ignore the NF attribute. It's been one of those little fibs by Matt Cutts.

I have many links from nofollow and I am not getting good results from it, so I recommend that you stick with the dofollow method
