5 Mistakes that You Made When You Start Blogging

1) Have never thought that it will earn money.
2) Very Poor selection of theme
3) Never taken care about regular updates.

 

I'm not sure which of my advice didn't help you, but I teach the following which goes right along with your tips ...

1) Use a blog platform. I personally use Movable Type. Wordpress is fine.

2) Getting RSS subscribers is like building a list. Only building a list will pay off MORE than RSS subscribers. I do both.

3) Don't use an ugly theme. The AdSense Code discusses the importance of how your site looks. It's critical.

4) I always tell people to comment. Entering the discussion is the best way to get traffic to your site.

5) Always network. I'm a huge proponent of Twitter, Facebook, Squidoo, etc.. . and have been beating that drum for years. Also, I tell people that the best way to network is to go to a conference.

I just wanted to point out that it's not my advice that caused you to make mistakes. Glad you are on the right path now.

I say the number one "blog 'F' up" that most people make is not being consistent. You don't have to post 2 times a day, everyday to have a good blog. A new post every other day, or even once a week can work fine, as long as you are consistent with your posting. Don't post 3 days in a row then disappear for 2 weeks. That won't get it done.

 

so you make a page on squidoo and just link it to your site?

 

Actually I am using wordpress but I didn't find there is anything wrong to do that.
