Rules 5 infractions?

    Hi,

I just got 5 infractions for duplicate posts. I saw other people posting the same thread every few days so that is what I did. I'm not going to moan about it but can someone please explain to me the rules on posting my web hosting offer and affiliate program offer? I just realised since my hosting is $1/month I have to post it in the freebies forum. How often can I post this? These are the 2 posts I have been posting:

    1) My web-hosting plans in the freebies forum
    2) My affiliate program details in the affiliate program forum

Most forums allow you to post once a week. I feel I have added a lot to this forum in the last 2 weeks (View my posts) and want to continue to do so without receiving infractions.

    Thanks everyone,
    Jack

You may not be aware that others are also getting infraction for creating duplicate threads..please don't create it , as it will be a extra burden for DP.

Here is a rule for your info:

Duplicate Threads - Do not create more than one thread to promote your product or service (this includes modified titles or content that still refer to your same items). If you wish to draw attention to a "buried" thread, create a link to that thread in your personal signature. Duplicate threads will be deleted, and duplicate thread or spamming (5-point) infractions will be given.

You're confused why others are able to do it, whilst when it comes to you, you get an infraction for it. This used to confuse me too before, but actually, it's quite simple.

When you see others doing it, this only means they haven't been caught yet. Since there are hundreds of active users online at a time, the mods need all the help they can get finding these threads that have broken the rules, so what you can do to help is report the duplicate thread ([IMG]) - & let them know it's a duplicate. Most likely, someone reported your thread as a duplicate.

There are no exceptions to the rule, so don't worry if you see anyone who has broken them but seems to have gotten away with it, it just means they'll get caught later (you can speed up the process by reporting their thread/post).
