Hello All: I was reading an article that predicted $5/gallon gas prices by the end of the summer (blogged about it here) I find it hard to believe that the price that will get that high... what do you think?
I was amazed to see that some people in some states spend as much as 17% of their total income on gas
Nothing has seemed to stop the hike of gas prices to where they are now, and my guess is they will more likely hit $5 towards the end of the year. Maybe a better question is if and when this happens, what will people do about it? Suck it up? Cut back on their driving? Protest? etc.
The economist in me tells me that people will cut out some of the miles they drive. The problem is that in the U.S. that is very hard to do. People need to drive to live since there is little or no mass transit.
