I doubt that search term will get a lot of queries, but I also doubt you will stay there for long, it'll just be a temporary spike, unless of course you've gained a few high quality links back to your site which have all been indexed in a week.Although getting too many links in a week will certainly see you come up 5th...last:p

How do you know how many searches a certain term gets per week? What tool are you using?

The way people search is different:

first they will look for :

    flash games ...

then they find a game they like they will look for reviews:

    mario flash game review ...

and then they will look for the best price:

cheap mario flash games ... etc'

So in your case aim for flash games...

I have used to google adwords tool many times, but it only says low/high and what not. Not specific numbers. That was what I was asking.. "only 10 searchs"

even if it's not such a great keyword, it is a good achievement, and you should take what you learned and try to get better placement on other searches!

You're going to want to target keywords with over 200 searches and less than 1,000,000 competing sites. I read a great article about this, and it's helped me a ton. I'm sure it will help you too:

Keep up the great work and you'll have snagged some great terms in no time! :)

What i would suggest is aim high and work your way down the list of keywords and hit everyone that pertains to your subject of your niche. Break the keywords down from a wider open subject keyword for your niche for example "flash games". In order to build better relivancy in search engines you want keywords to build value on each other. If you do a search on google like this ~flash games this will give you an idea of other keywords that might work for your site in comparison to if you where focusing on cars you would want to pursue keywords that target autos, autmobiles etc. In your case it could be different types of games from action, board, strategy etc. slowly break down your niche on your site like i said wider keywords then narrow them down. This will really help your rankings.

Just remember you can target high keywords that you dont think you will get because it will make your site more valuable to search engines when other long tail keywords are searched.

There is more to it but this is a start and hopefully the information i have told you helps you out when adding additions to your site :)

    Happy New Year!

Long tail SEO is a great way to get listed fast. Say your KW phrase only gets 10 searches a day; if you create multiple articles that are optimized for your niche just using different phrases... your in business as long as your articles convert!

a domain name is good for rememberance. look at google and search tnormal keywords and see how many websites that have non relivant domain names come up for things. for example ebay regardless of its name comes up for lots of keywords, as well does wikepedia. Even though these are some larger players on the net a domain name will only bring you so far. the real truth is in the pudding which is how you structure your site with keywords :). SHHhhh!
