This was originally a post from my web development blog, and I would like to share some of the tips with you.

    1. Business Cards

This is a no brainer. If you’re the type of person that meets your clients face to face, then a business card is a must. It’s the easiest way to trade contact information to your client. Make sure you put your website address on your business card and the probability of the person checking out your site is pretty high, they may even refer you to their friends through your website.

    2. E-mail Signatures

If you’re the type of person that sends a lot of e-mails, then this is a great opportunity to link to your site. Most e-mail clients allow you to set a default signature, so use it! Always close your e-mails with a “Thanks” or “Sincerely”, followed by your name, position, and web address. This is what mine looks like:

What about making meaningless threads with a link in your signature?
    Something like:

Terrible tips. They were great......in 1996. Why bother?

And your title says "5 tips". You only posted two.

This would be considered SPAM. They are tips everyone knows and if you are trying to help people out why do you need so many links to your companies. That is what your sig is for.
