5 Easy Instructions ... I'm so lost!

    1. Create a file named ad_network.php in the main directory of your blog I created a brand new "page" on my website that I assume is a "file" and named it "ad_network.php ". Then there is a whole bunch of "stuff" (data) below this instruction but the instruction doesn't tell you what to do. So I copied and pasted it onto my new "page".

    2. Create an empty file named ad_network_ads.txt in the same directory. I created a brand new "page" on my website that I assume is a "file" and named it "ad_network_ads.txt". I left the "page" blank.

    3. Create a file named .htaccess in the main directory for your blog with the following contents: I created a brand new page, named it as instructed, and put the data as instructed on the page.

    4. Add the following to your template (somewhere appropriate): Stupid question #10: What is a "template"? I pulled up my homepage and added the data to the very bottom of the page (somewhere appropriate). It looked bad, couldn't be right. I went to the source page and inserted it there. That looked better, invisible.

    5. In the Blogger admin, run the Republish Entire Blog option. I have no idea what any of this means so I FTP uploaded the new files to my host.

I hit the "validate" button with great expectation and wasn't surprised when it failed. Did I get anything right above? What do I fix? Is it hopeless?

Where can I find this "sticky validation notice"? Where do I "post my url"?

    Thanks.

Right below where you pressed 'New Thread' before starting this thread.

Here in your post. Other wise we don't have a clue what you've done. Like doing surgery blind-folded or debugging windows with the monitor switched off...

You followed the blog instructions... your site isn't a blog.

You need to follow the instructions for HTML sites. Need to pull some fancy tricks to make it all work.
