maybe you must make Firefox your top most tool, because without Firefox you can't use FireBug

 

For visual table layout I still prefer to use freeware SeaMonkey
PSPad editor also not bad...

I also use Kuler to get nice color suggestions. I also use Notepad++ for code writing

Photoshop <3 Ive come across recently to a very nice software called 90 second website builder,drag and drop,really great little fellow.

 

you may also consider a tool to test browser compatability.

 

Photo shop, Dreamweaver,Fireworks ,notepad etc these are all web design tools.

The only one my company uses is Firebug and we've been highly successful for 7 years. Never even heard of Panic Coda. Photoshop is only used by our freelancers. We use the Gimp.

Notepad++ is excellent for syntax highlighting any code you need to look over or tweak.
