I say avoid affiliate programs and start selling your own stuff. Affiliate programs aren't as profitable as they use to be.
Do both! There are good affiliate programs, professionally managed. Research them. Don't waste your time at less than 50% commission. We pay 60% across a lot of sites. And selling your own stuff has never been easier. Good quality PLR allows anyone to have "their own" products. Just take the time necessary to "personalize" them. Change the title, the chapter headings (if it's an eBook or report) and change the graphics. Then search your own harddrive for anything else in the same niche that you can edit and add to your new product to increase its' value. Once you have your own products, consider adding complimentary affiliate products and links to other products of your own, to the end of the ebook.
