I noticed that when I increase the amount of money/click on adwords, the appearance of my site for my specified keywords on google search increases... is that it's only effect?

Does anybody know if the high priced adwords get placed differently on content-based pages?

Check your stats in adwords. If you proceed as if you are going to edit you keywords and then "Estimate Traffic", it will show you how your site ranks in the search and content networks ~ the overall total positioning.

The higher your overall positioning, the better placed your ad will be in both the search and content networks. Where your ad appears will change based on your overall positioning and relevancy. The higher your ctr, the better your positioning.

price per ad isn't the only factor. G takes into account CTR as well.

It is assumed that your site will be higher on content pages as well.

Since you are only allowed one adsense account, does google use the CTR per domain when showing an ad on that domain, or do they use the CTR sum of all your domains combined- which in my case varies greatly?

Hmm I don't see how that could happen as a reuslt of the adwords. Adwords and search placement are different.

Go for unique and very nichy keywords so that you can get .05 clicks. There may not be as many searches, but you'll get people search for exactly what you are offering. The big general keywords are too exensive.

those very nichy words usually convert better at that lower price too ;) You may only get 20 clicks in a month but those clicks may have a 50% conversion.

I turn off the content adds, too many sites play tricks to get people to click on them, also the people who click on them are not as qualified to buy as the people who actually search.

However if you do want to run content adds the way to do it is have two ad groups running, in one you turn off the content adds. Then in the other ad group enable the content ads but only pay 1/2 or less for your terms.
You can monitor each group and see which converts better for the outlay.

I run 300 terms in one campaign, just looking and 62 terms have been clicked this month but all terms have a decent amount of searches, it just goes to show, free traffic is still ahead by a country mile, it's only a small % that click on the paid ads.
At the end of the month I will change the ad groups placing the ones clicked on in one group and the ones with no clicks in another, any term without a click after three months will get booted.
I also have another two groups which generate the most traffic and are higher priced.
Another thing I am doing is sending two groups direct to product pages instead of the home page, it will be interesting to see if this increases the overall conversion rate for the site.

    I gotta get a life :D
